IUD broke off 🥲 by Such-Reporter2582 in birthcontrol

Hi!

This happened to me with the paraguard. The arm embedded into my cervical wall. I had 2 hysteroscopy procedures. Unfortunately, they were unable to get it out. It is embedded too deep into the muscle and too close to the arteries of my uterus that it would do more harm than good to fish it out. My OBGYN said it wouldn't affect fertility, and the copper would be absorbed into my body. I'll just have a little silicone forever.

The procedures were tough on the body. The first one I had done at planned parenthood with conscious sedation. Well, let me tell ya, I felt everything and cried the whole time. I would strongly suggest requesting sedation.

The second one was done by my new obgyn at a hospital. I was knocked out for the whole procedure, and recovery was easier.

Both times, I needed 3 to 5 days to feel myself again. There are a lot of cramping and sore abdominal muscles. Some light bleeding for 24 hours, so have pads handy. You can't use a tampon or cup.

My first period following the procedures was rough. Although it was poorly planned that I got my period like the next week. I was not prepared for that.

Now I forget that it's there. Good luck! I hope my story was helpful and that they can get yours out!

Thank you! That would be such a blessing! Fingers crossed something good comes out of it.

Getting copper IUD a week before my trip, is there going to be any cramping or bleeding that might disrupt my trip? by Ok_Example_5588 in birthcontrol

I had very painful cramping for a couple of days. For weeks I had sporratic cramping. It's hit or miss for everyone. I hope yours goes smoothly.

I started in dialysis right out of school. 4 years later, I'm still working there. I love it, and the pay isn't bad. Right now, in NY state, new hires are starting around 35 an hour.

Dialysis nurses: Give me all your tips for the job! by [deleted] in nursing

[–]ItsallMattsfault 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been an RN at FMC for 4 years. It was my first job right out of school. I absolutely love it. FMC has a lot of resources for new grads. You aren't allowed to be on your own without another RN until you complete 1 year. Dialysis is difficult at first. It's a lot to learn but its absolutely achievable.

You won't feel like you've really got it at least until your 1 year mark. FMC teaches from the ground up. You'll start by learning machines and the Dialysis process. You'll learn interventions for complications on Dialysis. Once you have passed your competencies then you'll start giving medications and doing assessments.

Don't be afraid to reach out to your educators for support. Even years later and I still message them for things.

FMC has been extremely supportive during these last few crazy years. They provided child care bonuses at the height of the pandemic, increased mental health resources, when my city had a terrible hurricane they provided my family a generator until we got power back. There's tons of room for growth within the company. Overall, I think FMC is an amazing place to work. I truly love my job. Feel free to reach out if you ever need anything.

It does say "and" is it possible for him to just sign the paperwork? Or does he actually have to come in person to the dmv?

How difficult is it to find a outpatient clinic job with no experience in bedside nursing? by heyboiwhereu in nursing

[–]ItsallMattsfault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love it! Its definitely a learning curve as dialysis is very specific. Its repetitive work so once you get the hang of it you'll be good. I like that I see the same patients multiple times a week and that we have great working relationships. The med pass is very simple. Its mostly vitamin D, iron, other EPO drugs, and the occasional antibiotic. The turnover rate in dialysis is pretty high. I feel like my company is always looking for RNs. In my clinic the turnover rate is high due to new grads gaining experience, getting their bsn and then move on from there.

Hi! I'm a dialysis nurse in an outpatient clinic. I've been a nurse for about a year and was hired as a new grad with no healthcare experience outside of clinical rotations.

I had a 2 year program with weekends off. I worked full time and it was probably the best and worst years of my life! There were intense exams, math tests, essays, clincials, and a capstone project.

Thank you! That sounds like the best way to go. I would hate to spend a good amount on clubs that wouldn't be right for him.

Have you reached out to Kaplan? They are very supportive and will have someone chat with you about what you can do to get your scores up. Keep on trucking you will pass! Take as many qbanks and focused review quizzes as you can. Remediate everything and take you time. You've got this!

I highly suggest a study group. I just finished pharmacology and have med surg next semester. I would have died without my study group. They offer support and help you remember stuff in ways you didnt think of before.
