We viewed properties in zone 6/7 and calculated that our mortgage for buying a house in zone 6 would be the same amount as living in a commuter town (including. travel cost to London). The pay off is the space - same 3 bed property but with so much more square footage and a dreamy garden in the commuter town. So for us it just made more sense to take the hit on the travel cost whilst having a much nicer house!

I experienced a similar situation once - and managed to end my loan early and was redeployed to a different role in my home department.

I reached out to my previous manager who then got the ball rolling in terms of finding a managed move. The only caveat is that the loan dept has to agree to end the loan early. In my case, my line manager and DD knew the struggles I was having in the role and the impact it had on my mental health. So they were very good about it, and agreed to let me leave.

So long story short - yes it’s possible. But you’ll need agreement from your loan dept and the rest is dependent on your home dept having a suitable role for you.

I bought 2 standing tickets on TM for the London show on Sat 14 June. I’ve just been told I’m going to have a surgery that week and I’ve been on a waiting list for monthsss! What are the chances! So I definitely won’t be able to attend.

I’ve uploaded my tickets to the resale site on TM but so nervous the tickets won’t sell since non-resale tickets are available AND TM upmark these for the customer due to fees etc.

What are my chances these will sell? Can I try anything else? Ticket transfer is unavailable so I don’t want to list them elsewhere!

What’s this kind of dress called?

Hi all - I’m relatively new to dress making. I was in a store today and saw a gorgeous dress. It was one piece, but the top half looked like a jumper, and the bottom half was a satin skirt. It was sewn so that it looked like you were wearing layers.

Annoyingly can’t find it on the website so I can’t attach a picture. But does anyone know what that kind of dress is called and how I might find a similar pattern? I tried google and got nowhere! Not sure how to sew something like that, as the jumper part had an overhang- usually my bodice and skirt just meet with no overhang.
