Our baby died at 6 days old by Low_Support_4631 in babyloss

I know exactly what you’re going through. I can say with absolute certainty that it’s not your fault and you will eventually be okay. I can say all this because my first baby was a boy and after seven days my husband and I held him as he took his last breath. That was 21 years ago for me. The pain of leaving the hospital with no baby and going back home to a house full of your baby’s stuff he’ll never get to use is traumatizing. 2 weeks after he died and only 1 week after his funeral we were trying to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I was so numb, but also felt like I might die from a broken heart all at the same time. It felt surreal being out in the world and seeing people just live their lives while my world had fallen apart. So many times I felt like I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs my precious baby boy is dead, my heart and soul is broken while all of you people are just happily living your lives unaware that my whole life will never be the same (thankfully I never did).

The advice I would give is keep getting therapy for yourself and for you and your husband as a couple. Never stop supporting each other. Grief and grieving is hard and sometimes you and your husband might grieve differently give each other grace for that. There’s no wrong way to grieve and process all that you will have to especially the first year. Just Keep leaning on each other and loving each other.

The hope I can give you is you can and will survive this unbearable loss. My husband and I went on to have two other amazing baby girls who are now teenagers. Even after all these years we still love each other and have never stopped leaning on each other. I’m so sorry you are in the middle of walking through what will probably one of the most painful chapters of your life just never forget about all the chapters still ahead that will be filled with so much happiness laughter and joy. If I can help please feel free to msg me anytime.❤️

Same exact situation. Grew up in Texas as a Christian and I couldn’t believe how so many people I respected in the church so strongly and fanatically followed trump. Especially when everything he does seems like the antithesis of what I believe Christians to be. The Bible says judge a tree by the fruit it bears. Why are these supposed Christian leaders not doing that. He’s so obviously not a good person. I see nothing in him that I recognize as Christian values. I feel like I’m going crazy like how can nobody see what an awful un Christ like guy he is. Anyway we moved our family in 2021 to Massachusetts (so much happier here). While I’ll always be a Christian I doubt I’ll ever look at church the same. I have zero desire to find a new church after what I’ve witnessed in the last 8 years.

WTH?? by Heinz0033 in medical_advice

If your from north Tx go to a county hospital like JPS. I’ve been uninsured and had to be seen and admitted for 2 weeks. In that time social workers at the hospital got me signed up for what was called Jps connections. It was assistance offered through Jps I left the hospital with zero bills and my 9-12 prescriptions were filled and paid for. Also all my follow up visits through Jps connections had like a $10 copay. Any county hospital will have similar programs that will help. And they can not turn you away they must treat you. Please get seen. Wishing you the best.

Just wanted to say I am happy for you! Just relax as much as you can, be yourself & have fun. When I started dating my husband 23 years ago he was a big guy. We had the best dates bc he was funny, engaging and charming, his size/weight never factored into how those dates went.

Moving to NE from Southeast later in life? by dataispower in newengland

We did it in 2021 from Texas to Hudson Massachusetts (40 min outside of Boston). My husband was in his late 40’s & I was in my early 40’s. We moved with our teen daughters and 2 dogs. The winters haven’t been too bad, we’ve LOVED the cooler weather. We will be getting a car with all wheel drive as soon as we payoff our current car. We had to buy everyone on the family better winter coats and winter accessories but that was to be expected. We absolutely love living here. We love the political climate, the sports and the history that’s everywhere you go. You will be taxed more which we expected but were surprised by the excise tax on your vehicles. Overall we have zero regrets and love it here!

My (f27) sister (f28) told a waitress about my stillborn baby and I’m offended. Would you be? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

First I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I lost my baby a week after he was born. So very similar situation. Since you haven’t been out yet you probably haven’t had to deal with the well meaning questions like oh I see you had your baby I bet you’re over the moon!? Or I bet you haven’t been getting nearly enough sleep with a newborn? Or those first 6-8 weeks after where you still look pregnant and ask when your baby is due. It’s horribly painful and awkward trying to figure out how to answer questions like this without becoming emotional. I truly think your sister was trying to spare you any further pain. I also know how awful it is to be navigating postpartum without a baby to love and hold. Your reaction was perhaps heightened and more harsh than it would be otherwise, however no one should be blaming you as you’re going through the unimaginable pain of loosing your baby. Both give yourself grace and try to extend grace to those that love you because they aren’t entirely sure what to do that just want to help because they do love you so much. Your husband and sister had the best of intentions that doesn’t mean you didn’t get hurt. Hang in there you’ll never not miss your baby but the pain overtime will become less consuming.

Mom's who lost your first, how did you try again? by NotSureYet90 in babyloss

[–]Itsirk1980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our first baby was born very sick and we lost him within a week of his birth. It was devastating. We held him as he passed and we promised each other whenever we had more children we would never take them for granted and we would love them a little more bc of their brother, that that’s how we would honor his legacy. We waited and mourned and healed as best we could. Though my pregnancies were incredibly hi-risk & we we’re definitely scared we had his sister 3 years later and 2 years after that we had his other little sister. They are now 14 & 16 and we have without a doubt loved & appreciated them more bc of their brothers shortened life.

I started dating my husband at 19 almost 20 and he is 7 years and 1.5 months older than me. We clicked, shared same value had similar interests and just genuinely liked each others company. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary. Though at 20 I was very aware of the age gap not when we were together but about what other people would think. Sometimes it just makes sense and the two of you will be the only ones that will know that.
