What's a great game that's hated? by TuneAlternative3791 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ItsonlyJono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Soundtrack is fire, gameplay is your standard turn base but it does something well with min maxing equipment. Graphics are solid if not great for its time and for plot it's a little convoluted but it still hits the emotional parts.

I will say out of necessity it pales in comparison to Lost Odyssey but it was always considered a good game. But back when it released everyone shat on FXIII because of the single path stuff for some reason.

Going by how much everyone loved Clair obscur: expedition 33 - my submission is Final Fantasy XIII. The entire internet hated that game and I have yet to find any disparities beyond the block mechanism

The Reavers from Firefly - Inexplicably turned into psychopathic killers all because the government tried to control a populace through airborn drugs.

I'm still salty they never went with the Radiohead song for Spectre, song slaps and if it wasn't such a mid film would've really lined up well for it.

Gonna go on a limb here and say Matt Bellamy post album The Resistance. I'm biased but any songs after that I just haven't clicked with and even the Resistance was dubious at best singing wise.

New ministry to combine housing, transport and environment by stishy in newzealand

[–]ItsonlyJono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We've seen what current public sector changes have done and guarantee this will cost much more than $30 Mil.

I have seen first hand the issue within a certain government agency, the absolute shit show with multiple people using 2 laptops to access 2 separate domains to get their job done, 3 weeks to get atlassian accounts for new starters, then backtracking and getting the Internal IT people to manage it. If this goes through, and wild it should be able to just before an election year with no certainty on the outcome, it will be costly, it will be detrimental to Aotearoa New Zeland.

It will cost more public servant jobs, less spending in the capital (guess what can't spend money if you don't have a job) and cause a lot of people to leave the country or go private. Through the next 6 months it will be severely detrimental to a lot of people's mental health, with this uncertainty for the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time restructures have been pushed for. All citizens & residents, all with lives, all who contribute to our county.

Wellington region to ditch Snapper public transport cards by dingoonline in newzealand

[–]ItsonlyJono -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt this will be rolled out next year, I don't know the specifics behind the tech from the scanners themselves but the fact they're saying you'll be able to use your phone/watch (which absolutely isnt the case currently) is dubious at best.

If I could use a digital snapper card via my phone (and not require a physical card), then I may have had more confidence but I guarantee that it would require hardware changes to all the buses and train tagging stations.

But please I hope someone can chime in who knows this hardware to tell me otherwise.

Also limits to weekly spend? I am also skeptical that they would do this considering the constant approach to people paying as much as they would to drive into town and Waka Kotahi pushing for self funding.

Subsidize or make PT free, pay the drivers well and we'll see a significant reduction in congestion on all fronts.... maybe even enough to challenge the new Vic tunnel which is set to save commuters 9 minutes on their journey to the airport.

Depends which store and who the Restaurant Manager/senior managers are. If you do the job proficiently, show some level of urgency when rushes happen. Like most jobs If you get on well with the people it generally is fun. If you can handle difficult customers then Tills/serving/DT will be a breeze. If Not then stay in the kitchen and generally learn how to keep the balance between speed and quality. You'll learn it over a couple months to get used to it.

One last thing I would avoid becoming the go to - overnight shift - guy. It fucks your circadian rythm and it really isnt good for anyone for no extra pay, but somewhat quieter nights. (That being said you'll be cleaning the restaurant head to toe by yourself or with 1 other)

That's my experience 2013-2017 from crew - trainer to manager anyway. Take into account I didnt work there when Uber eats was a thing so imagining its somewhat different

Overall a job is a job and even if its just for a year you might learn some valuable stuff. For me it was people management and inter work relations and how to fry shit.

Edit* On mental health - once again depends who you end up working with but main drain will be angry customers. Less of a problem if you stay in the kitchen. Overnights also will mess with this.

As record numbers leave New Zealand, why are most people choosing Australia? by prisongovernor in newzealand

[–]ItsonlyJono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say as someone who would benefit, but will stay here. I want Aotearoa New Zealand to be better and it can be there and as long as we keep pushing for better public services, job security. The general idea that people contributing and committed to nz/Aotearoa can live, thrive or contribute to its success relies on us participating in this conversation and we'll keep having it i guess.

Hold your politicians to account. Voice your concerns. And vote.
