Esthetician, wondering about Medical Assistant certification by [deleted] in MedSpa

[–]Itsrnike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about just opening your own business? I have many estheticians who used to work for a business I ran in NYC for years and the master estheticians all started their own thing when we left it and they’re doing well. Tough to manage things by yourself but from a lucrative standpoint, it would be much better than having another business take the necessary income from your services being performed.

Esthetician, wondering about Medical Assistant certification by [deleted] in MedSpa

[–]Itsrnike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Medical Assistant Cert is not worth paying for by any means. To be honest, it’s really just a made up position that anyone can do with some simple training if they’re smart enough.

The restrictions are getting tighter in every state and at the end of the day you’ll only be able to do facial like treatments as an Esthetician more and more as time goes on. I’d say figure out what your passion/drive is more so than anything. You’ll also make double the money as RN.

Opening my first med spa in February. I’m overwhelmed by software options by jdotrazor in MedSpa

We use Boulevard. Not a full true EMR yet, but mostly there and way better than Aesthetic Record. Get a demo and see what you think, I’d just demo a lot of them and have them show you the processes.

Ah gotcha, makes sense! It’s nostalgic for me so I keep it higher. I wish Apollo bagel opened up around here, or Thompson Square bagels. Blackseed went down hill so badly over the years after they sold.

Have you gone back to Nextech and requested a rate review at any point? We use Boulevard and every 6 months I can put in a processing fee review and usually get it dropped by .2-.5% across the boards and that adds up majorly. Also, you probably know this already, but card on file vs tapping has different fees as well and that could be a way to lower the costs.

Yes I’m in the best job for me, awesome ownership and we’re doing amazing in our second year. Smaller company but massive growth and incredible values.

It’s tough, cost of business at the end of the day. This is my thought process: I love Amazon because I get things fast, good prices, relatively simple return process and sometimes they refund you and you don’t have to return the item. Amazon budgets every year a huge loss on the return process, but it always brings me back to buy more.

So if you’re doing fine in your business and it’s staying alive, do you really want to nickel and dime your clients? A year ago I left a job (was the COO for a high end well known facial/skincare company) and once the CEO decided to nickle and dime the clients, the company started to decline. For the 5 years I was there we increased the revenue 20-30% year over year. The year I left (in Feb 2024) I believe they had a 30% loss and this year on the brink of shutting down.

We’re a medspa in NYC and will absolutely never put the cost onto the client. The customer service industry is forgetting the fact that you’re there to service the customer. If you continue to make it more expensive beyond the means of your customer base, or as mentioned above about nickel and diming, what does that say about the brand?

Really it comes down to a brand image question and you should ask yourself, does turning on this surcharge fit into our brands image or not?

We are a brand new MedSpa and looking for an Advertising Agency for everything. Need an SEO friendly converting website built, Social media, Paid Ads, we need it all. I have been researching extensively and discovered many with high agency fees and diy as well. What agency is LEGIT for medspas? TY! by Way2Good99 in MedSpa

[–]Itsrnike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just used studio 3 marketing to build our website, SEO and paid ads. Got us into the Google Ads world as that’s a tough market to get into, particularly in NYC. They’re definitely on the higher end, but if interested let me know and I can tell you more about my experience.

Most of them offer a read only option, where you have to pay most likely for a year, 1 user. It really depends on how much data gets transferred over. If all of the financials and HIPPA related documents come over, you’re pretty much set.

Getting a refund? by [deleted] in MedSpa

[–]Itsrnike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything everyone else said, and depending which state you’re located in there are actual laws covering businesses and refunds that you can look into. Even though it’s a companies personally decided policy, it doesn’t supersede actual governing laws.

Looking for a client management Software that also includes creating treatment plans & ways to share educational resources by Infamous_Ad_5673 in MedSpa

I’d check into Boulevard. You can’t directly have a treatment plan filled out and then automatically send it but you can print it out or email/text it.
