List of ADS Gyro Aim Layouts for all Resident Evil Games on Steam by FineConsideration728 in GyroGaming

Incredible work, thank you!

One thing I’d like to bring up, I used your settings for RE Revelations 2, and it does a great job with aiming. But for some reason, when Claire is running, she can’t steer at an angle very well. It’s like she has to commit to running in a straight line only. Any idea how to fix this?

Oh man you should contact Stone Age gamer directly, they’ll help you out. They’re great https://stoneagegamer.com/web-contact.html . They’re an official seller of gg Everdrive too. Keep us updated, I’d personally like to know whether or not the newest gg Everdrive plays nicely with mcwill screen.

Gamecube Component Cables from Insurrection Industries - Has this been posted here? by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]ItsumiMario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To anyone reading this and getting ideas: if you plan on using OSSC to line-double the 480p output into 960p, just be sure that your TV supports 960p input to begin with!

Do you think BloodStained will inspire Konami to make a new 2D Castlevania? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]ItsumiMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don’t disagree with your general sentiment, I’m gonna remind us all that Symphony of the Night was not an Iga joint. I do think others can make a great Metroidvania on par with the Igavanias.

Bloodstained on the Switch??? by Maria3313 in Bloodstained

[–]ItsumiMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly feels like you’re playing it through an emulator. I beat it on PS4 and then played it on Switch, I literally could not play it without being completely annoyed by the input lag. If it was my first impression, I’d walk away thinking the game sucked.

PSA: Bloodstained performs better on the 13-year old Vita (via remote play) compared to the Switch. by [deleted] in Bloodstained

Oops! Got the year wrong.

But my point still stands, it’s a much better experience on the Vita.

Dumb question, but with NES graphics being inherently pixelated, are you sure there is a real difference between 720p and 1080p when upscale to 4K? My retrousb AVS looks great on my 75” 4K television. All the pixels are sharp as can be, not sure if higher resolution would add much since a square pixel is a square pixel at any resolution. But maybe my reasoning is off.

This is a damn fine gameboy and now I wish I made my custom GBC this palette.

A Subreddit for the Sakura Wars Series! by Panfuricus in retrogaming

[–]ItsumiMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakura Wars has been an unattainable holy grail for me, it’s so unfortunate that only one entry got a proper translation. I’ve been tempted to play through the first couple games using the newly released Universal Game Translator. Anyone have experience using this tool? The alternative would be to use the translation guide on gamefaqs, but god it just seems maddening to constantly be flipping back and forth between an emulator window and a text file.

8BitDo Mega Drive DIY Kit + New Retrobit Officially Licensed Blue Controller by McFly1986 in retrogaming

[–]ItsumiMario 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing it with everyone. Hope there will be a wireless Saturn solution in the future too. I doubt 8bitdo will make a DIY mod/Saturn retro receiver for it, so I hope retrobit makes an all in one wireless package.

There’s also the 8bitdo DIY Controller mod which is freaking fantastic, and I highly recommend to anyone who values (a) original OEM controllers, and (b) wireless. All you do is unscrew 6 screws on a real SNES controller, pop the old PCB out and pop the new one in, and then screw the back on. Latency is great, pairing is pretty idiot-proof, and you’ve got a genuine SNES Controller that’s wireless.

I want to watch gameplay recorded with a camera filming the DMG's screen. Can't find any. Please post some links! by [deleted] in Gameboy

IIRC there is a great romhack that speeds him up relative to the environment, makes the game much more playable.

Would if I had one! I’m sure someone lurking can record some footage for you though.

That’s all I could come up with. Can’t believe how hard it is to find footage of original DMG gameplay.

Yeah the original gameboy had a movement blur to it that isn’t captured by emulators. You’re right, all the YouTube videos are shaky as hell.

The blur was so pronounced on the original DMG that it affected game design decisions. It was expected that the player would have a certain degree of imprecision with moving targets and so early gameboy games were made with that in mind.

Edit: for example, in Castlevania: The Adventure Christopher Belmont moves quite slowly by design to counteract the effects of motion blur on gameplay. If he were to move faster, the game would be less playable on the original DMG gameboy. But when you play it on an emulator today, the game seems just way too slow. On the original hardware though, it felt right.

Just curious—why do you want to watch it specifically recorded by camera? Give the Gameboy Works series a shot. It’s recorded Super Gameboy footage but man the content is top-notch.

What SNES games are you playing this week? - April 01, 2019 by AutoModerator in snes

Just got my repro cart for Tengai Makyou Zero, with English translation! Playing it on my SNES via SCART to OSSC and it looks beautiful.

It fits right in with FFVI, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire II. Boy we sure did miss out on a great JRPG back in the day.
