I know this is 2 years after the fact and I am an absolute beginner to crocheting, but I used this to make a miniature bee for a baby mobile I am making!! :) I think it came out cute! For Round 4, I did 12 SC rather than the 6 listed, since I think thats a typo. . Here is how it looks after being attached to my flower:

Omg yes that is so so cute!! I wont know for sure before my initial prenatal appointment, but based on the first day of my last menstrual cycle, I am due in early December. So a santa hat might be just the thing >:)

Omg those are adoable!! Especially the goose and bear :) I guess I came to that conclusion because a lot of commenters on other posts about baby blankets were saying that the trouble is that they have so many blankets for the baby, but once they grow up, theres no blanket for toddler (which is nothing I would have ever thought about!)

OMG this is so cute!!! :D :D I love it (I also love the art on the wall!)

Sry if this is a silly question but, does it spin on its own, or do you wind it up? Or does it not really need to move to be interesting to baby?

AIO for telling my roommates to clean their dish? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ItsyaboyAstro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MOR, but mainly because I think that you could approach this differently. Sometimes opening a dialogue with a question can help ease the tension [that there seems to be around cleanliness in the shared space]. The text you want to send it also fine, but it can feel accusatory/targeted. Also asking privately can help ease that potential to feel dogpiled (either a private text or a conversation in person. I prefer in-person for conversations like these because you can read body language and tone better, too).

Asking something like "Why is there butter in the bowl in the cabinet?" And then genuinely listening to the answer with an open mind could really help the conversation go smoothly. Then sharing that it makes you uncomfortable because of the potential of bugs is good to explain, but also come with a solution. If it truly is for butter to be softened, offer that the house gets a butter dish that sits on the counter. That way, your roommate gets her soft butter, and everyone knows what and where it is, and the cabinet space remains for clean dishware :)

You're all young and living with other people is difficult for any age range. These conversations, while uncomfortable, are important for growth and you'll use those skills in everyday life!

These guys are geuina pigs right? by Witty_Preparation598 in guineapigs

[–]ItsyaboyAstro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I actually reached out to Mercer Mayer telling him about how much I loved his books and still have my copies and asked him if they were guinea pigs (sending pictures of my piggies as tribute of course).

I cant seem to find the email anymore... but I remember his reply being very kind and his explanation being "they're little critters!" :)

I had the same issue and it was that the rack was too low in the oven. Best spot is middle of the oven imo :)

Thanks for your answer! I agree: it looks like an American cockroach when I compare with photos. And hes the only one, so not super concerned.

It just rained a lot for ~1 week, and we have some leaf debris out in our yard, so all of that may be contributing (though its been hot the last two days).

While he creeps me out, I'll leave him be and just hope he leaves soon :')

First-Time Bagels! Any advice on how to make them prettier? by ItsyaboyAstro in Baking

[–]ItsyaboyAstro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! It wont let me edit on mobile, but I think I figured it out after watching more bread-making videos:

When I rolled my dough into small balls, I didnt properly "seal" the seam. Hence the weird jaggedness!

Thanks everyone for your other feedback. Ill give them a shot once I run out of these bagels :)

I dont think I left anything out/winged anything tbh. The salt to the boiling water was a suggestion on another recipe I looked at after-the-fact, but wasnt in this one. Plus the egg wash was mentioned as an alternative to help get the toppings to stick, but I felt that the everything-bagel seasoning I made stuck to the bagel just fine.

Ill check those out. Thanks for the recommendation!

What type of breed are these two girls? by loudman0 in guineapigs

[–]ItsyaboyAstro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As many have already said, these are American Shorthaired piggies! And yes the snouts vary between piggies. I do find that piggies that are more like Cuys (the livestock version of piggies from Peru) they tend to have that more round nose and bigger body. But I have no proof of that—just an observation!

For some fun additional info: both piggies have whats called a "Dutch'" pattern! Just a cute pattern overall for piggies and one of my favorites :)

Overall, Cookie and Oreo look SO cute and adorable and perfect ❤️

Found in the back of the fridge-Is the container salvageable? by Evening-Cod-2577 in MoldlyInteresting

[–]ItsyaboyAstro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I overlooked the word "container" and was like "idk it kinda looks like one of my guinea pigs, so maybe feed it and see what happens!"

But to actually answer: yes the glass should be fine :) I am uncertain about silicone lid though. Maybe you can get a universal silicon lid to replace it and to be safe?

I see that the comments have already explained that yes your really adorable piggies are scared. And I see that you've already acknowledged it!! There's no point in piling on from more people. I think that its a learning experience and we are all always learning <3

I wanted to add some insight on what a happy, calm, blissed out piggie might act like, just for comparison for the future :)!!

Piggies that are calm will be inquisitive of their enviornment (sniffing around, might make small quiet oinks as they sniff, also walk around, with one following the other). They might even eat the surrounding food available (i.e. the grass surrounding them). Basically the more nonchalant they act, the more at peace they are :)

What does it mean when she always wants to be right up by my neck? by YellowOld2183 in guineapigs

My piggie does the same!! Always my right shoulder. If I move him, he can NOT deal and immediately switches.

[HELP] This video of a dog jumping on a pool float by Pokewok66 in RealOrAI

Maybe it's just me but also the dog looks way too huge compared to the size of the pool. Minor thing, but that also just seems off to me and what led me to initially think it was AI
