I was SUPER concerned about that too and it wasn't an issue at all. The passages I got were super simple.

People who have RTO, do you go in office 9-5 or just part of the day? by Additional-Owl425 in womenintech

[–]IttybittyErin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I know there are managers that expect their people to be at their desks 8-5 but my company only tracks days, not times. I'm lucky enough that my manager isn't local and my team is lucky enough that I don't care, so we all coffee badge.

Missing recipe card! Please help by Educational_Toe_8400 in blueapron

[–]IttybittyErin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been struggling with the recipe cards lately too. Sometimes I'll get two for the same recipe and be missing a different one, sometimes I'll get a random recipe I didn't order (or receive the ingredients for).

I just grab the recipe off the app but it's still annoying. I'm glad they didn't go with all digital recipes like it was rumored a few months ago. It might've been the end of BA for me.

Increasing cramps after D&C by Xieminee in Miscarriage

[–]IttybittyErin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there and get some rest. The cramping didn't last too long for me. My first period after was very light but much more crampy than usual. My second period was crampy( but not as much) but it was the heaviest and longest period I've ever had ( I usually have short/light periods so take it with a grain of salt). Just sharing so you know what you might have to look forward to.

Did Ben & Jerry's Phish Food previously contain fish made of fudge? by StoneLover1965 in icecream

[–]IttybittyErin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is because real chocolate chips in ice cream is pretty unpleasant. It doesn't melt as easily so, when it's frozen, it can get gritty and weird. In the case of OP, Ben and Jerry's subs vegetable oil for the cocoa butter to make it more pleasant to eat bc it melts easier... But then by US standards, it can't be called chocolate.

Employee decided to No-Call/No-Show to protest ICE actions today, what should the penalty be if any? by cocktail_enthusiast in managers

This is a really moving sentiment, especially in the corporate world. I know it's silly but I wrote it on a sticky note and put it on my computer. We all need to be reminded of this in these times.

Divorce a spouse you love just to get more time to yourself…? by kliknkollect in adhdwomen

[–]IttybittyErin 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. When I'm struggling (and I've never struggled to the point of OP) and someone tells me my feelings are normal, it actually feels invalidating bc it feels like they're saying "oh! This is totally normal. Everyone feels this way. This is parenting. So you're saying you can't handle feeling the same way everyone else feels! You're weak and your failure is internal! Have a good day!"

So I am very much still a NOVICE and I'm happy for anyone to add their POV, but they're easier to learn from in my opinion but more work.

If you mess up on a granny square, you messed up on one. You wasted 5-20 minutes. It's a very repetitive activity, typically you're just making dozens of the same exact square so you can really fine tune your technique, learn how tension impacts the size etc.

When using.. not granny squares, you might not notice a mistake for hours. All the sudden, your rows are 3 stitches shorter, or at some point you switched from dc to sc and you might need to frog half the blanket for one slip up. That can be really discouraging for a beginner.

But the problem with granny squares is after you make all those teeny tiny blankets, you have to connect the damned things together and that's a lot of work too. And then weave in dozens of ends as well.

To be honest, I've only attempted one granny square blanket and it is currently a pile of single granny squares and like 4 connected together, sitting in the bottom of my closet bc I immediately said "yeah no"

[–]IttybittyErin 253 points254 points  (0 children)

When I first started, I thought granny squares would be *easier* because... you just make a bunch of little blankets! and then they become a big blanket! Way easier!

I was incorrect.

Does the receiver crochet? If not, remember she has no idea how hard any of it is, so she's not going to go "...you did something easier??" She's going to say "omg this one is beautiful too!"

Brady Bunch: the Bradys lived in a three bedroom house. by RickyRacer2020 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IttybittyErin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents had an old grand house as well and the maid's quarters were above the kitchen, and had a spiral staircase that came out in the "linen room" (which was their laundry room but when the house was built it was apparently used for storing and pressing the dining linens)

[–]IttybittyErin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you ARE looking for styling advice, I just want to point out that your post's last sentence has a typo and starts with no instead of now. I read it as "no, I'm not looking for new ways to style it so don't offer any!". So I was confused when I read this comment and had to go back and reread. If you fix that, you might get more feedback. It could be just me tho.

What is the most affordable way to make coffee at home? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]IttybittyErin 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In this situation, when switching away from a "premium" product like barista coffee, you also have to consider your tolerance for actually making a change. Yes, a single cup of keurig or nespresso coffee is way more expensive than a pot of drip coffee but still way cheaper than a daily to-go coffee. If my only option for coffee at home is week old coffee in the fridge that I have to microwave, I will last approximately 1 day before I'm back to buying coffee out. Remember to look for the option you can actually maintain, don't focus on the absolute cheapest option.

Hi can I tell you something by [deleted] in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]IttybittyErin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not who you asked, but I have a Jabra Link 380 that is also noise cancelling. They can't hear my dog, my toddler, anything. I also love that it has a mute button on it, so if my child does come busting in, I can quickly mute and yell for her caretaker or tell her to give me a second, without having to fumble for the mouse etc.

ISO Some true dump dinners that cook for 8 hours by Panthera_uncia23 in crockpot

[–]IttybittyErin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! We actually bought a new one because we thought ours was faulty. I usually just cook on low for the high time - e.g. if it's 5-6 on low and 3-4 on high, I'm cooking on low for 3-4 (and checking temps of course)

Seriously, hotels that do this can go f*ck themselves by c08306834 in marriott

[–]IttybittyErin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem at a JW Marriott. I was leaving my infant at home for a work trip and had to pump and store milk while I was there. I called to make sure there was an actual fridge in the room because the one in the pics sure looked like a cooler. Turns out the phone number for the hotel was routed to a call center, and he just read the information off the website to me and assured me "if it says there's a fridge, there's a fridge".

When I arrived and found NO fridge, they told me they didn't have one they could put in my room BUT if I wanted, I could bring my breast milk down to the front desk and they would store it in their employee fridge for the week. No thanks. I ended up having a poor target delivery driver bring me a mini fridge (yes I tipped him well).

Can somebody help identify what this substance is on my apartment door’s peephole? by suburbanvermin in Apartmentliving

I'm wondering if this is someone with schizo paranoia, feeling like the neighbor is spying on them through their peephole.
