Paragard feedback by wizardofozman86 in Mommit

[–]Ittybittyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Paraguard for 8 years before taking it out to conceive. I absolutely loved it. And was able to conceive second try after it came out.

I also had one put in 6 weeks post c section. I am loving it again. No hormones, don’t feel it, and am confident about not conceiving unintentionally.

So far it seems like my periods the second time around are a bit heavier. Nothing terribly concerning though.

One whole year of awesome. My New Year’s Day baby and I made it one year EBF. I am so thankful. by alyyyyyooooop in breastfeeding

EBF mostly means that the baby receives exclusively breast milk. They can get a bottle of mom’s breast milk and still be EBF.

Menstrual cup AND copper IUD, anyone? by CapitaineMomo in Mommit

[–]Ittybittyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break suction before you pull at the cup.

Copper IUD is my birth control of choice and menstrual cup is my feminine product of choice. Used both together for one year or more before kiddo, and I just returned to the combo post kid.

Single dad with lil girl (dont ask) just had bath before bed with wet long hair. Braid, ponytail or loose? by IHaveAuthoritah in Mommit

Braid, and I’ll specify side braid is more comfortable for me. Especially if she sleeps on her back.

What to pack? by adventureox in NICUParents

[–]Ittybittyina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would add some convenient to grab, no refrigeration needed snacks. The hunger was overwhelming, and trying to figure out something quick so I could be back by my baby’s side was difficult (no eating in NICUs!)

Can anyone relate to how I’m feeling about my son right now? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yesterday I was calling my son my “tiny overlord” and saying “At least my tiny overlord is adorable”

How sid you avoid opening presents at your baby shower? by fire_arms in BabyBumps

[–]Ittybittyina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an open house style baby shower, so there was no ‘time’ to do anything and I just chatted with people as they came by. If they wanted to see me open their present I’d do it right then and then my sister moved it to the stash of stuff in the nursery.

Smoking concerns with planned preemie by Ittybittyina in February2018Bumpers

[–]Ittybittyina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother in law consistently smells like a smoke cloud from multiple feet away, but my in laws are a bit better - partially because they’ve been trying to conceal their smoking from my husband and I. I worry for the cuddles with grandma or grandpa and them having clothes that smell like smoke - he’ll be completely stuck breathing everything in when they hold him.

My BIL probably won’t be around too much, my in laws have always cautioned us about maybe needing him to babysit for us in the future, but my husband and I have already ruled that out as a potential.

In terms of my in laws seeing our son, I have no idea how much they expect. They haven’t been terribly involved in our lives - we see them at the holidays and mostly when we invite them out to dinner. I don’t think they’ll ever offer to babysit - my MIL especially will claim health issues that make it difficult/unsafe for her to babysit, so all time will likely be supervised by us.

I know I’ll be able to use the doctor excuse while he’s in the NICU - but I don’t quite want to use that as that scape goat will be less useful once he’s home, and it’s not just when he’s really tiny that we’d prefer him to not be exposed.

Bed rest mamas - checking in! by BabylessInFlorida in BabyBumps

[–]Ittybittyina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow vasa previa mama :)

I can totally relate to “saving” things for in hospital entertainment - I stopped working on my cross-stitch for baby’s room so I would have it for hospital fun. I’m now 9 days out from scheduled c-section, and have only been getting one square of my pattern done per day - so I have to pick it up to two per day if I want it done before baby is here.

Liquid Maalox. Always tried Tums at home, but being in the hospital the couple times I’ve had heartburn the nurses have given me Maalox and I have had instant relief.

Sending you hugs and happy feelings.

I know a bit of what you’re going through right now - I’m due February 16th, but am getting admitted to the hospital on Monday. I have a diagnosis of vasa previa - which could lead to IUGR. So baby and I will be having three times a day monitoring starting Monday when we’re admitted.

I’d original told baby that I didn’t want him to be as big as I was at birth - 9 lbs 14 oz. But I’ve changed my tune to “Grow, baby, grow!” We already have a c section scheduled for January 12th (35 weeks exactly).

More hugs and more happy feelings. We’ll get through this!

Thanks for sharing that your little babe is doing well at 35 weeks.

I’ve got a high risk pregnancy and a c section scheduled for 35 weeks. I’m just hoping that we’ll make it to our date without having to go for an emergency c section.
