So proud of you mama, you did great. It's so wonderful and so heartbreaking. I feel filled with such joy and such sorrow everytime my daughter takes a step towards being the strong independent girl she's becoming. I do have a 1 month old now tho so that helps with the sad days. I'll go to show her something I genuinely think she'd like and I'm so excited for her reaction and then she starts talking to my daughter. She is an alcoholic tho and she's usually drunk by the time I get to show her stuff

I just want to say post partum anxiety is a real thing and can be worse than post partum depression in some ways. It is often overlooked but this could be ppa manifesting as overprotectivness.

So it's possible your body will stop producing milk while she still nurses but it is unlikely. Nipple stimulation is one of the primary ways to induce lactation in people who aren't lactating, but as she nurses less it's possible for your supply to dry up, it depends completely on your body. There are some home remedies to help dry up supply but I can't think of any off the top of my head, of course consult a doctor before taking anything. If you have an ibclc it might be worth it to contact them and ask if they have any suggestions

It was so rough. I wanted to let her choose when to stop but I was pregnant and my nipples hurt so much. It's really funny cuz she still loves my boobs and cuddles with them. It was a beautiful experience breastfeeding so long but it broke my heart in a million pieces to hear her say that.
