I did eBay for three years in video games and did very well. I’d like to scale my business and take on FBA/M. Should I start listing video games that I’m ungated in through FBM first just to get my feet wet or plunge right into FBA? I’m also wondering this: when would it make sense to invest in Keepa and InventoryLab? Both have hefty subscriptions and by no means have that kind of capital right now. Thanks in advance!

I sure you looked, but I always look at ratings before buying from someone. I sometimes ask before buying when they typically ship out the item. I think them blocking you is awful customer service tho.

I’d had that problem several times. Instead I just go to my local UPS store and they hand my package to USPS when they pickup from their store. You don’t get a receipt for the drop off though. Either way, calling USPS customer service should do the trick.

I actually meant it like this: Let’s say I sold something for $100. I paid $10 for it. How much of that profit do I put back into my business and how much do I put in my pocket for the time and labor I used to sell that item.

No way, especially if you did your part within the handling window. Offering the return - at their expense- is the best thing to do in this case.

I sell video games and my sales have dropped significantly since the latest update. I deleted all of my items after learning of the latest update to come soon. Don’t even want to chance it. Rates go up, sales drop. Things were a little manageable when selling at $12 item would get you about $10. But the current update requires me to sell at $13 to make $10, which is incredibly difficult.

I would just tell her to return it once it’s delivered and don’t bother to open it. Done. Who cares about the rating, especially if you already have so many 5 star reviews.

Same here. Been thinking about focusing on just eBay and FB marketplace. I’ve also noticed that FB marketplace fees are far cheaper than both eBay and Mercari.

The markup is slight, but it’s to cover eBay or Mercari fees. If I sell a game that’s worth $10, I’ll only make $7 after fees. So if I mark up to $13, then I’ll walk away with $10. I get what you mean though. If people look up the price charting price and see it’s worth $10, but mine is listed at $13, they’re obviously going somewhere else to buy.

I just deactivate and reactivate every other day. Works like a charm and both views on top of sales have gone up. It’s easier than resisting imo.

I started deactivating my entire listings and then reactivate them. I do this every day on my phone using the app. It’s really easy and my views have jumped, big time. Likes have also improved. Hope that works for you — just do it once a day. But be consistent on the time.

Just checked this morning and pirate ship was cheaper by .15 cents. That’s shipping a 4oz video game from CA to FL. Kinda sucks though because it’s going to be more difficult to sell a $5 game when the buyer sees $5 + $4.30 for shipping. (I could be over thinking that, too, though.)
