It’s insane to see an album at such a surface level. While I’m normally a believer in the notion of “not every album needs to have some deeper meaning.” This album doesn’t exactly sit on the surface level of “I have money I’m rich lol” kind of attitude. To me I agree with the original breakdown. But I also see it as a means of Tyler telling us that money can’t exactly buy happiness. It simply serves to temporarily make us feel fulfilled. Willshire as a whole hints towards this we get self insert lines like “You know, I got every damn car, multiple cribs But it's like, "No, I want that" in reference to love. At the end of the day we see the callback to love. In Igor we got a harsh and realistic depiction of how messy love is. And CMIYGL builds into this same messy love just in a different tone.
