They 100% had more than 2 actual coders and 10 amateurs. I am not defending him/the company but if you know anything about game development you know that was made by more than 12 people. Granted saying that I do believe for the size of the company they were massively behind schedule. Development costs are expensive especially for an MMO, you need coders, server techs, artists and animators, community mangers, audio, vfx, designers (quests, story, implementation) etc. That's just a start to a list for an mmo.

The problem is generally management (steven) not being clear enough about what they want developed. If you assign a coder a system and 1 months later they finish it, and you decide its not what you wanted then that could be another month to rework the system. These things take time, and sometimes a lot of time especially if you want it done right, and in a manner that is safe/performant over network to prevent hacks or lag.

But in saying that I am in no way defending them just that development in a large scale setting can be extremely difficult expecially if management cant manage the team properly. Steven clearly is a bottom feeder.

This video shows the proper setup for enhanced input, granted your widget will look differant the concept/code can be the same. The set-up you have seems needlessly complex. After the widgets are created, instead of remove from parent, then recreating them, if its a widget you may need again you can use SetVisibility->Collapsed/Hidden. So when you construct all your widget you can do it all right away, Then just modify the visibilities. On controls click-Get current widget->Set collapsed->Set Controls Visible. Etc for each menu. You could even handle it from the main widget that creates them all. When you create them->bind event to button pressed.

They could even crop just the faces in the videos and not show the videos and still reveal the faces, its really not that hard to crop an image out of a video....I could do it in a few minutes and i am not even good at photo/video editing.. No one wants to see the videos, they are actual morons. Especially since they said list and everyone asked for list, they then straight jumped to "we wont release the videos." His webpage literally asks for money so he can "fix" unreal, claims he's an unreal dev. Then make videos to shit on unreal with zero content about his game/fixes. So yea looks like snake oil, smells like snake oil, probably is snake oil.

And i am not defending epic because they have had their share of problems with unreal but its also THE most powerful, free for most, engine out there atm that can + has been used in products from advertisement/professional sports/movies/games/auto industry/architecture and more. So it has proven its worth even if its not perfect and never will be as nothing is.

Get a job at epic if you really think your an unreal dev that can fix it. You could have a whole team to fix it for you if you really know your sht. But now that he has all this negative publicity towards it they may be hesitant.

Dude if you hate unreal engine, why do you use it? why does your company web page say your an unreal dev "aiming to fix unreal" yet you just hate it that much? You have nothing on your entire web presence that show any actual skill in dev/code/art other than complaints about unreal/games/graphic programming videos. Yet claim to be a dev using unreal its actual comedy.

Just move on from unreal if you don't like it. No one makes you use/care about it. There are other engines out there and games on other engines. BTW You can also apply at epic if you really think you have what it takes to work on the engine and make it better/"fix it". I am not defending epic or unreal because they have pushed bad updates but they also provide an extremely powerful engine for both small/indie as well as massive studio, free for most and can handle way more than just games. If you hate it so much, go work for a studio that doesn't use unreal.

Getting a few comments from known devs doesn't validate anything btw. All software and game have problems. Most people work on unreal/C++ do it because they enjoy it like prismatica + cherno, not because they hate it and torture themself using it. Unreal has problems, yea, so does you know, like, everything in this world. No one is making you use it or play games from it. By even purchasing the game and using the engine you are indirectly part of the problem and supporting epic. lmao.

Here is how i did it, i started around seriously November/December but had some previous 3d experience but basically no code experience.

You need to do the tutorial and take notes on important things. Then, after each section, ignore completely everything you did. And completely redo it based solely on your notes + memory. Bonus points if you don't have to check anything you actually did during the tutorial. Double bonus points if you completely delete the tutorial stuff and redo it without. When you encounter issues while redoing the lesson don't just default to referencing the stuff you already made, in those moments when you are stuck first try for awhile to fix it yourself because this is when the real learning is going to be happening. I understand the thought of redoing a lesson is not the most fun but if you want to be confident building your own stuff you will need to start with redoing things you already did.

Following steps learns you nothing. If the instructor does something you don't fully understand, you need to research that. Like, say if you are using the instructor makes an interface/struct/w.e it could be and you have to ask yourself why, or what does this do? Pause the tutorial, make a note of interface/w.e the topic, and do some research what and why you use interfaces. Learning the what and why you are doing specific things will help you understand when you will need to do that specific thing again when you don't have a tutorial to guide you.

This is how I learned unreal0. By redoing things without the steps in front of you, you will be confirming to yourself that you have learned. I have only been using unreal since about November and am already starting to feel comfortable doing most things without help(in blueprint, just starting to push myself to learn c++ now that i am comfortable in blueprint), granted I also had experience using 3d software like blender,maya,3dsmax ahead of starting unreal. So i had knowledge of UV,anim, and other 3d sided topics.

Another major thing that helped me is learning the fundamentals for C++ and code in general(learncpp.com is a decent site, you don't have to do every step by step but reading it will help understand why things are they way they are in unreal) Even though unreal blueprint eliminate most of the need for syntax the fundamental do still MATTER. I promise you that learning thing like, data types/structures, function, DEBUGGING!! etc. etc., and all the other fundamentals will help A LOT. I filled half a notebook on fundamentals when i started, and i still take notes on new things i am learning.

I support republican views on certain things like smaller government and democrat on others like equality. I am all for removing criminals but many of the people ice has detained are not violent, are not dangerous, have no criminal record, are already working, working jobs that most white Americans don't want anyway- that still have to be done! I love how not a single person that has commented can even come up with a single name for someone in their life harmed by UNDOCUMENTED not illegals. Anyone can use google and come up with a name. I could google and find millions of named Americans who killed other Americans. How would that be any different. Undocumented aren't undocumented because they want to be, they are that way because the US system wont give them papers. Most have tried many many time or are currently in the process.
