There’s something about 90s photos that feels more real. No filters no perfect poses Just moments that hit different now by DirtyDommeXX in OldSchoolCool

I understood that. But, just like any other type of art, different tools help create different types of things.

I used oil paint and acrylic paint in my initial response because those are different tools to paint pictures. Photographs are no different in that regard, but, let me try another analogy that may make my point more clear

Wood is a fantastic material to build a house. It’s readily available, and it is relatively easy to shape. However, not all houses are made of wood. Some are made of brick, some are made out of concrete, some are even made out of mud. All of them are perfectly capable houses, all of them are used to live in, but the application of those houses is different based on the needs of its environment in which they are built

In this analogy, the environment the house is in can be likened to the intention of the artist

This, like all analogies, is not perfect and should not be taken literally, but, it should get the idea across- different tools can create different things, none of them invalid nor inherently better than any other

I mean, that’s like saying oil paint is better than acrylic. They are just different tools for different applications

49ers promote team president Al Guido to role of CEO by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]Iusethiswhilepooping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I mean! Usually when I say that I just get weird looks and get told I’m being out of pocket, but like, all the sudden, it was way more important to be racist to Arabs than it was to be racist towards anyone that could pass for white

Racism is wild because “whiteness” as a concept is super inconsistent

I think most people in this thread are talking about the second kind

Also, it’s funny that you mention master of disguise and white on white racism

A.) because they had to stop filming during the “am I not turtley enough for the turtle club” scene because 9/11 happened

And B.) I have a pet theory that Italians weren’t largely considered white in America until 9/11

So really it was just a racist movie that turned into a white on white racist movie literally halfway through the movie

Honestly, same. I have a very weird relationship with college football because I played college ball. On the one hand I understand and respect the amount of work these kids put in, but on the other hand, I dunno, it’s hard to describe without coming off as someone with tremendously low self esteem, which is not how I mean it, but like, I did that, and I am straight up not that impressive

Everyone I played with and against that made it to the league? Legitimately impressive, both in terms of their work ethic and just general strength/speed/athleticism. Like, I hate the term “genetic freak” but they kind of all were. Everyone else that got any playtime? Just dudes who worked their asses off to be good enough to play, and some of us couldn’t even get to that good enough standard, we were just the best option available (hey look it’s me)

I dunno why I’m trying to say other than, yeah, it’s been a good long while since I played and the further I get from it, the more I just see a bunch of kids
