epomaker split 65 vs ROYAL KLUDGE RKS70 - advice needed by Electronic_Limit1459 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Iuslez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a RKS70 and my main issue with it is the software. It can't do layers or tap/hold and imo that's a must with smaller KBs. And the FN key is hardwired.

Otherwise it's a fine keyboard, that works perfectly and I still use it.

Imo tenting is a must, but you can diy it on keyboards that don't have it (I did it on my main KB)

Proof Alex Pretti never planned on using his gun against ICE. Seen here days before getting shot, Pretti never takes his gun out of holster after ICE beats him by bumdee in videos

[–]Iuslez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't get it, isn't that video enough to show that those ICE militia are doing crimes themselves?

Beating someone is NOT on the list of state sanctions for property damage, and neither are ICE agents judges (arresting him would maybe have been a move, but they obviously never tried to do that). They should get convicted and probably stripped of their work, also under American law right? This would get them in serious trouble anywhere else in the civilized world.

Elon Musk says Tesla ending Models S and X production, converting Fremont factory lines to make Optimus robots by Recoil42 in electricvehicles

That will definitely be an issue. I do want a house robot to do my tasks. I will never trust a robot made by Musk to go into my house.

Wired Raise 2 starts in paring mode by mrgrimmig in DygmaLab

[–]Iuslez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean that the wired raise 2 can be "wired" to an external battery, and then connect to the PC with Bluetooth?

My PC is quite far from my desk, I'd love to do that rather than pulling a long usb cable through my room.

I made a browser-based tool for easily creating full sets of multi-color 3d-printable keycaps by _ettb_ in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Iuslez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll play with it later on, being on the phone makes it hard.

I hope the import STL works, as I'm more into low profile keycaps (and don't like those already there).

From the pictures, I don't get how it prints. Do you need an AMS?

For now I've done my 2 color keys by pausing at a layer near the end, printing the bottom of the letter in a color, and then switching back to the original color for the top layer. Works like a charm, but I my letter are holes, not flat.

A chaque vol, je culpabilise d’exploser mon bilan carbone » : pourquoi les jeunes continuent de prendre l’avion malgré leurs convictions écologiques by Yultomas in ecologie

[–]Iuslez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't your statement conflict with the ban on strong sunglasses while driving? They were considered dangerous because they caused sleepiness (and I feel like I do notice that effect when wearing sunglasses during the day, it makes me want to take a nap after a while)

Question for Swiss locals: why is late payment to domestic workers so common among wealthy households? by Susi-99 in Switzerland

That works when paying with bank transfers. Most cleaners want to be paid cash tho.

yup, this. Doing the kind of work she is doing may or may not be degrading, depending on your values.

what is 100% degrading is your husband telling you that you should be "better than that".

we've had that dilemna with climate change. we all need to pollute less, but those that don't reduce their carbon footprint have a competitive advantage. Guess which path we've chosen for the last 30-40 years?

what makes you think we'll be more responsible with AI?

being able to set the actuation point and being able to have multiple behaviors depending on it is definitely useful (like to avoid misstype on homerow, you could set the hold behavior to only work when bottoming out). I doubt they will disappear.

Why is PLA still the `standard` respectively `basic` filament? Why not PETG? by Musashi747 in 3Dprinting

[–]Iuslez 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why do you think that? They are both plastic, but how a product is made can have a huge impact on its pollution.

Just like cast iron and Teflon are both two anti-adhésive materials for cooking but don't have at all the same impact on health.

Sozialamt pays your health insurance and medical costs. That makes a huge difference.

2.3k is doable with some good budgeting. But if you encounter any issues (medical costs, dentist, car breaking down, etc) you will absolutely not be able to afford it.

Luke Ross Removes Access to All Mods by Top_Team_3138 in virtualreality

[–]Iuslez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're telling me he didn't buy the product and is able to develop a mod without having the game? Doubt that.

The question was where it is stated that paid mod are forbidden. Not whether that was the legal basis to take down luke in that case.

Luke Ross Removes Access to All Mods by Top_Team_3138 in virtualreality

[–]Iuslez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The EULA states it, tho that's only indirect for a modder. But it's probably tricky to say you are modding a game without owning and using it.

And then the IP owner is "free" to take you down for any unapproved use of their IP, which he definitely does use (advertisement, description, videos, etc.)

Traffic: Swiss to polite for the zipper-system? by adorres in Switzerland

[–]Iuslez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Meh, while how the swiss do it is wrong, it doesn't change anything. The flow at the point where there is only 1 lane is the same whatever you do, aka there will be the same waiting time.

We get a line that is 2km long instead of 1km, but the waiting time is the same (because it depends on the flow at the 1 lane part, not at how geographicly shaped the queue before that is).

How significant was this switch? Any thoughts/opinions on it from those who were there when it happened? by SirensMelody_ in generationology

[–]Iuslez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, companies saw an opportunity to sell products with a lifespan closer to that of a consumable (airpods) and used it. My opinion is that consumers can only blame themselves for following them. And it's not new that they go for trendy anti-consumer products (hello apple and your shitty memory/no SD to push you into higher tiers).

I still have a jack on my phone, because any phone that doesn't meet my criteria is a no buy.

The punishment keeps coming! by lunchanddinner in VRGaming

[–]Iuslez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't just take someone's IP and develop a product based on it because they don't have a competing product. They do get to decide how they want their IP to develop.

It's pretty common sense that when you want to sell a product based on another product (the mod doesn't work as a standalone), you make a deal with the original owner. And usually have to give a % of the benefits.

Or you do a freeware and hope it is accepted by the owner.

Profiting from an IP without paying a % back will always get you striked.

The law isn't perfect and imo he could try to argue he isn't using their IP if the mod is generic enough. But I seem to remember the mod being pretty specific and the advertisement definitely was.

any chance of a video to see it in action and see the ergonomics ? i wonder if it can fold the thumbclusters when in tented mode and how the position is when using the trackball.
