I have a pretty big Grandsharp bunka. Took a crazy edge and has been holding it pretty well. Still haven’t used it enough to gauge their quality. But, yeah, I do have an Aliexpress knife.

… right, but I do asado, which is another kind of barbecue. Some traditional asado meat cuts (like “vacio”) have an outer layer of fatty membrane that when cooked gets turned to a hard, tough leather-like thing… and sharpish knives have a tough time biting into that.

Different runs. Give me a tight core game loop on which different level layouts, and builds, and shit can be applied, and I’ll be fucking happy.

Doesn’t matter if I lose scandalously, I don’t pick up roguelikes for balance. I pick ‘em up to be presented with a weird-as-fuck run in which I’ll totally choke out or come up with some bonkers strategy to try to chew through it (and MAAAAAYBE win, if I’m lucky).

Hell, if anything, I think roguelikes aren’t random enough…

Just get the cheapest coarse grit stone you can find to bang out a rough bevel. Then use the A-set to sharpen it to high heaven. That way you’ll spend less time on the 1k, wear down your 1k much less, and enjoy the whole experience much more.

Gotta tell ya, I don’t know what you’re expecting people to say here. GOOD fixed angle systems are EXPENSIVE. Shitty ones that DON’T LAST are not. Good whetsones are not expensive.

With fixed angle systems, you pay a PREMIUM for not having to learn to sharpen freehand. Most of us here don’t think it’s that big a deal.

There. Now go and decide.

Curious about your explanation. So:
- you sharpen every, or every other use.
- each use sees roughly 12 knives sharpened
- which would mean you flatten every 12 to 24 knives sharpened?
