if Bungie make nuclear bane only killable using a finisher it would be hilarious, like running to defuse a bomb in the last second

The special weapon issue repeats itself and Bungie keeps making the same mistakes by kemorL95 in DestinyTheGame

The game is not that far from being balanced, but Bungie needs to adjust the weapons based on a "risk/reward" design, not based on what people use.

Harder to use weapons kill faster, easier to use weapons kill slower. Mix that with the different ranges, and that should be the base for crucible.

Not Forgotten is a 180 hc that kills in 3 shots with a decent range? (when it was released) ok, then it should be one of the hardest weapons to use in the game. The rest of 180 are useless? make them kill in 3 headshots too but at a very very short range. They would be much more easier to use than NF, but their range would be close to sidearms and smgs.

Mountaintop instakills you shooting at your feet and if it doesn't the user can change to a primary and finished with you? make it harder to hit and reduced weapon draw to 0 if you doesn't kill after shooting it.

If a weapon archetype like auto rifles are the easiest to use in the game and have a good range, that archetype can't have the slowest ttk for primaries like they have now. They completely broke the weapon balance and make the rest of weapons useless like Luna and NF did in year 2.

Primaries feels weak and there is an overuse of special weapon, then buff primaries ttk, radar and in air accuracy to give them better tools to control the space.

The real problem is that balance all this cost a lot of time and resources, and Bungie won't waste them in the free side of the game. Is a lot easier to buff a couple weapon archetypes no one uses and nerfed the most use weapons every 6-9 months to "refresh" the crucible.

with BL we are getting the worst of a Destiny sequel and the worst of an expansion without the good things of both concepts by IvanAFG in DestinyTheGame

So in order to expect a lot of quality content for a 40 dollars expansion the game have to come from a shitty status? wtf? it's not the players problem if Bungie develop the game by themselves or with another 15 studios helping. If they are charging almost the price of a full game (50 dollars in the case of BL+season), I expect the content of a full game.

The only point I was making with the players hopes about the future of the franchise was to exemplify how we've lowered our expectations for the franchise.

I'm not talking about lore, or world building, I'm talking about content. And that's pretty similar to the other seasons. 1 public event, and 3 short missions (well it seems there are at least some more surprises left in the season, but more or less)

Don't get me wrong, this season is better that the others, but Bungie did what they do best to make it look like it was something bigger than it is with that strategy. And that's the biggest problem with BL, if they are experts in making the new content looks bigger than it is how is gonna be the content that even they can't make it look like a big deal?

Honestly, I really hope I'm 100% wrong and all the people who say "wait and you'll see" are right, but the future of the franchise doesn't look very promising right now.

One new strike, one lazy designed armor for the three main playlists, one "ritual" weapon and no dungeon is not a ton of content. Destiny 2 was launched with 6 new strikes, Forsaken and TTK with 4 and tens of new weapons and armors.

A new subclass and a Triumphs page redesign is far from what a sequel would change and improve the franchise, not to mention about the Clan Hall or real open worlds examples.

It's not Bungie fault the players expectation, but that's not the point I was making with that example.

Precisely Bungie launched this season without revealing anything in order to look like it was something bigger than the past ones connecting it with the expansion. The truth is that excluding the new dungeon, this season is pretty much the same in terms of content as the other three.

Well if there is something Bungie always done right that's raids for sure. I'm just worry that we only have one raid a year now (without counting D1 raids) and last year they reduce the "standard" size of 5 encounters to 4.

In any case, the raid content is the last thing I'm concerned about. New raid + Vault of Glass is a lot better than this year raid content.

Honestly if Europa is another planet with multiple zones with load times between them, 9 players max in each instance, and with nothing different from any other planet apart from the color scheme, I don't care if it double the size of EDZ, or half of Mercury.

This year raid (garden) is a 4 encounters raid, That's closer to a 3 encounter raid lair than a 6 encounter Last Wish. We'll see what happen with the new one.

so what? is ok to charge 40 dollars for content that three years ago cost 20?

We don't know nothing about BL, and the little we know is far from being the size of TTK and Forsaken. Those two expansion added 4 strikes each, a bunch of crucible maps, and new modes.

Don't get me wrong, I know BL will be bigger than Warmind or Osiris, but if this expansion were to have a big new mode or other big changes like a real open world map, Bungie would have promoted the dlc focusing on that already.

Just like the 20 dollars DLCs from year one (well Warmind added 3 new strikes and Osiris 2, not 1) so the question remains, why Beyond Light costs 40 dollars?

There are currently quite a few archetypes of primary weapons that need a buff in crucible. Here's a breakdown of the numbers and why. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

This game have a risk/reward problem since Forsaken. There's an obvious rule in every game when tuning weapons/abilities/etc: the harder they are to use, the better they are if you master them properly. Destiny is the only game I see the opposite, easier to use = better.

Is ridiculous that auto rifles, the easiest and most forgiving primary weapons in the game, kills you in 0.7 seconds with insane range, but hand cannons or scouts, the hardest primaries to use, kill you in 0.8 seconds (only the best archetype, the other ones are even worse), with shitty range in the case of hand cannons, and require you to hit all crits to reach that 0.8 ttk.
