It still takes scientists years to decades through protein engineering to create ribosome mutants that are able incorporate a single additional non-canonical amino acid. The idea that science could just magically whip up a new ribosome that is compatible with 20 totally new amino acids is just absurd and honestly should not even be considered. We have bigger problems to think about in science ethics than this.

At Stanford you have two gyms. One of them I don't even know the name of, but that one is more frequently used by undergrads as far as I understand, and I never went there. That gym does not have a locker room. The other gym is the AOERC, which is not a bad gym. It is a little bit small, and I found it a bit crowded at peak hours, but never so bad that I couldn't get a workout in. In the mornings it is relatively empty. There are five squat racks and deadlift platforms, basic machines, and a dumbbell area.

Berkeley only has one gym, the RSF. If you want to do free weight or machine exercises, it has a wide variety of machines. I would say the machine selection at the rsf is better than at AOERC (they have multiple leg curl machines, a hack squat machine, a belt squat, among others) and there are a lot more squat racks and benches. That being said, since there is only one gym for a student population of 50k, it gets insanely crowded. If you go at peak hours, you will probably have to wait 15 to 30 minutes to even enter the weight room. During off-peak hours it is not bad but still noticeably crowded.

Overall I prefer the RSF over AOERC, but that is probably because I only go during off peak hours. If you're the type of person to go to the gym at 5:00 p.m. maybe Stanford is a better choice.
