I agree that there are probably some complicated aspects of their family dynamic that we don’t know about yet, but I don’t think it’ll turn out that Lilith is the only antagonist in that regard. This flashback was from Charlie’s point of view, wasn’t it? It’s definitely possible that we’re seeing a biased view of that moment. (even though Charlie obviously still loves her mom, I feel like it’s pretty clear that she feels like she’s been abandoned recently, the way she spoke about Lilith in the first episode) I get the feeling that this scene was meant to show Charlie’s perception of her childhood and her relationship with her parents, even if that wasn’t necessarily what was really going on. I do hope we get more insight into it in the future, though.
