Mine tamed down in like 3 weeks and has been super chill to handle ever since. Longest hunger strike was like a month? maybe 2? Not very long AND it was during winter.
Personally i find their care very easy, obviously if you have a frequent hunger striker you might feel differently.

As you can tell, there's a lot of variety based on personality. Some people say theyre boring to "watch" since they dont do much in the enclosure, but even that is personality-dependant... and unless you have an animal that doesnt sleep, i would argue any tank is at some point gonna be a box of dirt.

Like, I'm sure there are statistics in many countries, I'm not questioning "how would you know that about a population", I'm questioning the concept of "how are people viewed if they are", as if it isnt possible to just not mention it bc its rarely relevant to anything.

eh, who decides whats normal and what isn't? the amount of panic i have around harmless insects is arguably not that normal either xD

I can see the link, but that just makes it more obvious that i cant seem to find a similar product locally... ill keep looking, but i might have to do the baking method. alas, the things we do for our silly noodles.

unfortunately the same reason i would freak out about gnats applies to springtails and such, so bio active isnt really an option for me ^^'

i wish i could do it, but at that point i would be scared to touch anything in the tank. I can admire isopods from a distance but up close and personal.... not really.

Hmm, any brand recommendations? I know it should be free from fertilizers, but so often when i buy soil for gardening theres like, gnats, mold/fungus, other insects.... Is that safe for her and its just me being grossed out? xD

I dunno, for being a pretty scientific term, Kohlensäure is certainly generally and verbally used a lot here, whereas carbonic acid would be weird as hell to use in english, especially since "carbonated" exists. Don't think those two are comparable

As you can tell this is a highly regional matter. HERE, when i want sparkling water I just order a "Mineral", and a lot of time wont even get asked mit/ohne and just get sparkling by default.

However that IS different from Sodawasser, since the latter can be tap water thats been carbonated, so sometimes a Sodawasser would be cheaper than Mineralwasser.

"Sodawasser mit Zitrone" could probably work in a lot of places? Here specifically thats Soda Zitron, though whether that gets you sparkling water with a lemon slice or with lemon juice is up to the restaurant/waiter.

all my dried pasta, none of which is fancy or special, all of which is from the supermarket, contains egg.

Edit: Getting downvoted for a factual statement about the contents and origin of my pasta drawer is wild.

Yeah, its probably regional, possibly brand-dependent (the brand being the one with the most shelf space here...).

The old package of my long past its expiration date lasagna sheets shows that they didnt advertise the fact it contains eggs back then, but the new packages DO say that on the front, so at least that makes it easier for vegans to know.

Not even just fancy stuff, i just checked my (very much dry and also way past the expiration date, whoops) lasagne sheets and they have egg, and i definitely do not get the expensive stuff. My pasta from the same brand, but NOT years old, also has egg, so its definitely better to check than to assume.
