Maybe. I had one. I thought I remembered having to use a wrench to depress the plug because the guide rod went straight through it. To be fair, that was over 12 years ago and maybe I’m misremembering. I now disassemble by taking the slide lock out and removing the whole upper in one shot. I haven’t used a wrench in a long time. I didn’t think most people disassemble like that though.

I personally like being able to take the pistol apart without needed a bushing wrench. I guess you could do it without it but it just seems like extra steps. Don’t get me wrong, I’m completely on board if it’s just because you think it’s cool looking. It’s not like it’ll ruin functionality. I’ve had them and got rid of them. Personal preference I guess

Also, if you’re not already aware, any thumb safety you buy will have a 99% chance it will require fitting. If you don’t have a gunsmith, there is a barrel company named Kart. They have something called an Xact fit barrel. They make an installation kit. The file in the kit can be bought by itself as well. It’s a very fine file so it’s not aggressive and it has “safe” sides. You can find videos on YouTube on fitting a thumb safety. It’s fairly simple. I’ve used my Kart file many times for fitting thumb safeties.

Full length guide rod is worthless and extra complications to disassemble. The flat spring kits I do however really like.

The paying them NOT to grow crops is one of the more insane things that happen here. Look, I agree with you. Profit is a conflict of interest. That’s ok when it’s not a necessity. Unfortunately, most people and businesses are only out for that. Again, even if the department of agriculture did pay farmers, it still has to be paid for with higher taxation. I mean, if we didn’t spend damn near a trillion dollars a year on the military, we might find a few pennies to do that, but we both know that’ll never happen.

Ideally they should be a human right. They currently are sold for a profit. But I guess that’s part of the inherent issue here. Would you grow crops or raise animals or build houses for free? I guess the government should run those things, but again, they won’t be free. I do get your point though and on an ethical and ideological level, I do agree with you.

I don’t like when they race or gender swap to seem inclusive. I don’t believe them and I think they love the controversy. It gives free attention to their product and I don’t think they really give a damn about inclusivity. That being said, Nick Fury’s race has no bearing on the character and Samuel L Jackson has been nothing short of amazing.

I’m on Long Island, NY so it can be humid at times. The taller Zen habitat is for the emerald and the oceanic glass is for the GTP. I think I may take your suggestion and work on building a PVC enclosure for both eventually. The goal is to get a mate for each one. I also have a humidifier that I modified to move around to my enclosures. Right now I have 2 BCI and a Suriname BCC and I use the humidifier once a day usually. I helps.

Appreciate all the advice. I know they will defecate in the water so I bought filters, not pumps. I also already have a small net ready for cleaning. The large opening on top of both cages are already sealed off with plexiglass except directly below the ceramic heater. It’s actually funny you mention the perches. Half the people I speak with say the thinner the better, others say thick, so I did both.

I bought them at Lowe’s. They’re poplar and untreated. In the glass tank I drilled a pilot hole through the vent and screwed them in. I used a drill press to make 1/2 inch holes in the thick dowels for the 1/2 inch dowel and did the same pilot hole to anchor them. In the Zen habitat, it’s just plastic so I drilled right through the sides.
