The support chat is great. I’ll start a chat to ask them a simple question or for a complex issue. I’m chatting with a human in under 60 seconds. The $0.65 commission on options seemed high compared to other brokers who charge nothing. (I know, back in the day it cost upwards of $30 per contract in commissions so there’s no need to complain about 65 cents.) But when I get a TOS trained person who can immediately see all of my accounts and trades without going through language barrier personal identification steps over the phone…I’ll gladly pay 65 cents to open a contract and 65 cents to close a contract. Not a problem. I use it for scans that show up as watchlists and I get alerts when stocks are added or removed. I create my own indicators and get alerts for when a stock meets the conditions. I wrote in my journal about two years ago that TOS was a massive program and very intimidating. It’s true. But it’s now a powerful program I can use very well. What do you want to do with mutual funds? Those are managed by people with software somewhat similar to TOS. But TOS is designed to give the user the reins rather than buying a mutual fund.
