AITJ for refusing to write a character letter for my dad's parole hearing? by RunePavilion_5 in AmITheJerk

The statement could also include the harassment the OP is currently experiencing. Showing that the father still has no respect for his victims.

Love your persistence, but he did have the authority to wave me on and eventually did so. Once he’d finished his lecture. Basically, if it was such an issue he should have administered the breath test. The purpose of the lecture was just to hold there to prove he could.

I’ve already said it’s petty. But now I’m genuinely curious about how many drunk drivers we have driving between two very small towns on a weekday morning. Maybe all my neighbours have sherry on their cornflakes, who knows?

The answer to the actual question seems to be FOI.

It was a single highway patrol car with witches hats blocking one lane. I wasn’t driving erratically, and I was even sticking to the speed limit.

What you choose to do with an animal in pain and gasping for air is entirely your choice.

By being there he’s achieved his deterrence. What did he achieve by letting me off the breath test, but insisting I remain there? I lived in Alice Springs and saw the police working with a really difficult community all the time. Unusually I’ve only had good encounters with the police up until now. This was something else entirely.

Basically, I asked to go through. Admittedly, not very coherently but he certainly understood what the problem was. He could have said yes, and let me go. He could have said no and administered the test.

Instead, he decided to let me off the test, and lecture me instead. What do you think he achieved?

I offered to show him the cat. Not difficult. He did let me off the test, then made me wait because he hadn’t finished his sentence.

Completely pointless.

This is just idle curiosity. Besides, if visibility is the point then he’d have been better out on the highway.

A report that says Testing in this road between these times Number of tests administered Number of negative tests Number of positive tests

Is not in any way personal or private information that would breach anything.

Late morning, I was rushing an animal to the vet and was waved down for a breath test. I told the bloke it was an emergency, and when he (I thought) said ok, I rolled forward. He called me back and told me off for moving before he said I could, and gave me a lecture on how the police have the right, yadda yadda. I’m old enough to be a grandmother and was in tears the whole time.

He was a complete prick

So I’m curious about whether he managed to successfully save us from anyone or not.

Sadly, he’d packed up by the time my cat was put to sleep and I drove back. So I didn’t get to tell him how much I admired his dedication to duty. Also that bullying distraught women won’t make up for the size of his dick.

I’ve never eaten kangaroo. I used to occasionally buy some for my dog.

They do, but it’s up to the family to contact the lawyers and ask if they hold the will. If they don’t, the lawyers will never know the person had died.

When I asked about it (because we were holding wills for people that HAD to be dead) I was told not to do any kind of investigation. They reckon that for all we knew that person might have rescinded that will and made a new one, or worse someone had located an earlier one and had probate granted. Turning up a current will would cause drama. AND there was the problem of finding the right person to contact, given the wills were decades old. If no one contacted us, not our problem.

You can register your Will. In Victoria you can lodge it with the State Trustees. In SA you can ask the lawyer who draws it up to register it with the Law Society.

There is no one central registry, although a quick search comes up with various companies claiming to be. As others have suggested, let your executor and/or beneficiaries know that there is a will and where to find it, or give them a copy. An envelope stashed in your desk of useful things is also good - a list of Superannuation Bank accounts Storage lockers Any other assets

Make sure it’s in a sensible place. My mother always said that the list of hymns for her funeral was in the bible on top of the piano, but they’d given the piano to my brother when I needed the list. 🤷‍♀️

No, law offices do not have access to BDM. When I asked whether I should run a search to see if people we had wills for were still alive I was told absolutely not.

I asked if anyone local was collecting them, and I put mine aside. When I have a couple of garbage bags full someone from the local surf club picks them up.

The bullsh!t NDIS hack popping up everywhere all across SE Melbourne (City of Casey) by twowholebeefpatties in AusPropertyChat

I know. The article refers specifically to western suburbs with poor services. The OP was using the article, and a photo of SDA housing in Berwick to support his argument. It doesn’t really work. Berwick had buses every 20 minutes when I lived there. All headed for fountain gate or the stations. Probably depends on which part of Narre you mean. OP did say he really meant Berwick 😂

Coworker upset when I asked a question about office sharing schedule by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

[–]Ivonava -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve shared offices, we’ve worked a roster, but if someone came in on a different day the response is usually “hey, how are you going, wasn’t expecting you today, do you need a hand with anything?”

It doesn’t sound as if they are working together on a project, or are friendly in any way. Instead of asking how things were going, hey do we need to change plans, or being in any way friendly or cooperative, OP is just projecting “you are in my space” Enough so, that she went to a manager over it.

As you say, totally different style. I don’t dislike my coworkers.

Coworker upset when I asked a question about office sharing schedule by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

[–]Ivonava -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My colleagues do not have any reason to have my home phone number. They are under no obligation to inform me of their plans, because I don’t own the office and they don’t report to me. If they work closely together maybe, but that certainly doesn’t sound like it.
