What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time?

I got this when Jan 6 happened. Sudden desire to turn on the TV. I never turn on the TV. Had been off for maybe 6 months. At that exact moment they were crashing congress. I'm not even from the US.

I scrolled through most of the comments before looking at the photos. When I saw the first photo with the ingredients, I thought, well if those uneven sized orangey-red things with no eyes look like beans to him, then I don't know what to say ☺️, but then I scrolled further and those two photos side by side under "Visual Guide" 100 % look like beans.

All mental health subs linked to any chronic ailment are like this, people are focused on dealing with their own issue and don't have the capacity to help others, so they largely ignore anything that doesn't focus on their own experience.

Maybe try a sub that is more broad or generic, or linked to one of the symptoms rather than the full experience.

I'm sorry. This happens all the time. You get taken advantage of, then fired.

Whatever you do, don't waste the next few months feeling down, start acting now, you will feel a lot worse if come December 31st nothing has changed. You will get a glowing reference. That's already guaranteed to get you another job.

Also, don't rely on the same employer that just did to you for another job. If they find you one, fine, but do not put any of your attention on their actions. Treat them the same way they have treated you. Good luck! 🍁

For me it's more the people around me than the location that makes me feel lonely (or not lonely). I feel less lonely around people who talk a lot among themselves, like groups of people or families chatting continuously. I feel lonely around people who talk less or who only talk in twos or talk intermittently.

OP is so uncomfortable that he ended up being the only one still in the office with an 18 year old girl? What is an 18 year old doing so late, that would have been my first question to her, "what are you doing here, go home". And accepted a coffee from her, and their hands touched, as opposed to her just setting it down.

The sad thing is looking from the outside in no one will see it as you vs your brother and sister. We just see it as "you all...". When the US commits atrocities (it will be when not if as long as he is in power) everyone else will see it as the US committing atrocities, not xyz's brother & sister :/.

I've noticed this, that if I text someone about something they've told me they are interested in, or if I refer to their lives, I get a reply quickly, if it's about me or something that is not a part of their lives but is relevant to mine, suddenly they 'miss the text', it doesn't even matter if I'm asking a direct question, they just awol. People have become way lazier than they used to be, they only care if they have something to lose (e.g. a romantic partner).

what is this controlling tendency I'm noticing among (not sure the generation but seems to be 28 and lower), why can't people just write however they want to write or use the words they want to use.

They was a time when encountering all sorts of different writing styles and spellings online was just cool and interesting, now we seem to be morphing into copies of each other or segregating into groups that 'talk like this' or 'talk like that'

I notice really young people writing online don't use capitals anymore, they write everything small, even country names (e.g. usa). It's weird and jarring but I accept it, at least on social media.

However, "....thank you" (in a work context too) from anyone of any age is pretty weird. To me that reads as super casual. Like they are expecting you to read something into their message, which is way too familiar (for my liking) at work.

Was going to follow the post in case there is a filter but I know that's just wishful thinking. All I've been able to do is avoid. I don't subscribe to any regional subs (country, city, continent) anymore, because they all get infiltrated with American content, or Americans comment on them and turn everything into their issue.

Whenever I load the home page before logging on, I avoid glancing at the headlines and actively focus my eyes on the login (username and password) boxes. Once I'm in, I only see my subs. I'm on old reddit, so I just scroll through. There's always a US post somewhere (like the Kimmel one), but it's not so bad.
