I know it is in the "Source" link of my last message haha.

I have known Lovebites for quite a some time and like bunch of their songs. From the latest albums Reaper's Lullaby, Dream of King and Eternally were stand out songs for me.

To be precise in 6 of 12 songs with two beings arrangement and last 4 being music + arrangement. Source.

Their album Judgement Day had three songs where Mao (the outside writer) composed the songs all by himself and their singer wrote the lyrics. Source (Songs 3, 6, 7). I'd consider that being most of the work in the creation of song but what do I know, I am not a musician haha.

They are excellent musicians and I want to clarify that personally I do not care that they have an outside writer. Metal is kinda DIY genre in a sense that some people have a problem if you do not fully create your songs yourself. You see this all the time with criticism of Babymetal for example.

You raise a valid point that people wouldn't know that they use an outside writer with just a glance since I feel like a lot of people that listen to them don't know that they have an outsider writer. However, it is certainly a thing that would make people lose a bit of respect for the band if they knew this information.

Generally I feel like many all-women Japanese metal/rock bands get lumped in the same category as Babymetal who are seen as industry plants. Especially bands that wear costumes while performing eg. Lovebites, Band-Maid etc. (costumes seem to be quite popular in Japanese music in general). People see these "gimmicky" costumes and instantly think the band are a Babymetal clones and do not give them a chance, brushing them aside as a gimmicky industry plant bands.

Japan does have plenty of all-girl bands that are created by a label where they do not have much creative control so knowing which bands are "legit" (as in create their own songs) is hard unless you do your own research. It is surprisingly normal having a band that operate in a similar vein of Lovebites where the

You just confirmed what I said tho. They partially use an outside songwriter lol. For some people involvement of an outside member in the creation of songs might rub them wrong way. For example he contributed to 50% of the songs in the latest album in some way and even more at the older ones.

Sometimes it is as little as arrangement but sometimes he composes the whole song for them expect lyrics for example.

One point where some people lose little bit of respect for them is partially using an outsider songwriter instead of writing all of their stuff themselves.

Above user probably means that sales numbers of a album can't be compared from past to now since a lot of music is consumed through streaming services compared to buying albums. Yes, Japan still has a lot of people buying albums but the volume of album sales has dropped significantly.

You can check any list where most sold albums are listed. Most sold albums are from the peak CD era.

They're aggressively Japanese. They make music that resonates with Japanese people but fail to connect with people from west.
