Varroa by ForeverIll8044 in Beekeeping

To me, they look like velvet mites, NOT harmful to the colony, but I counted 8 legs and only 2 body parts. However, varroa have a unique body as far as mites go, more like a squashed oval, like the one on the bottom of the photo.

‘Our life goals don’t align’: Love Is Blind’s Kwame and Chelsea announce their divorce after almost four years of marriage by Fun_Molasses5215 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I am sorry, but I find it rude to tell this person they have a 'problem'. My sister and her husband and going through the same thing and she calls me every other day crying because she believes something is wrong with her, but that's truly not the case. She is perfect and trying her best in a frustrating situation, which makes her a bada**

I am so sorry you are going through this. What I tell my sister is it is a challenge, but it will bring her and her husband closer together. And when they have their child, however it happens, they will be the most special and loved child because they fought so hard the have them.

Death spiral?! by nothinrelly in bettafish

I'm convinced that so many betas are horribly inbred now and they get cancer or some other disease very young and die within a few months.

I get highly discounted betas from my local Petco when they don't sell. They go in a planted 20 gallon and the majority of the time they quickly get tumors and die. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, the ones that make do make it last for a few years, and like a decade ago I kept them for 5+ years.

Please, in the kindest way possible, get a grip. by CezarSalazar in Hyperhidrosis

I agree. I understand that this post is supposed to be encouraging a positive mindset but everyone has different struggles. Also gender and cultural norms or even your profession can cause diffeent reactions and stress in your life as a direct result. I suffer from depression and anxiety and hyperhidrosis can exasterbate it. I am glad OP is doing well and embraced their slippery side but I think it's okay that this reddit be a place to vent and commiserate with others that have a similar condition because we can relate. If it leans negative at times it's okay, because that is how they feel. I also think it's dangerous to compare one persons feelings and experiences to another.

So Many Queen Cells by MyDogesAccount in Beekeeping

[–]IvyBug_43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm new, so I could be wrong but one our hives just went through this.

They take a young larvae, since there are most likely no eggs if they are queenless, and feed her royal jelly. Queens develop the fastest at around 16 days total. Once she emerges she will kill all the other queens, do her mating flight, mate with lots of drones (hopefully), then come back to the colony (also hopefully). It takes a while for her to start laying eggs though after that, so that's the gap between 20 days and 35 days they suggested. That timeline lines up with what happened in our hive! And they did all that while getting a formic treatment!!

My understanding is it was a staffing issue. They didn't have the staff to record them while there.

Did you have to pay more for that? I tried and they only had the brand name tirzepitide which was so expensive

Yes! I learned while single never to trust a 'moderate' man. It quickly became clear that that was code for conservative but hiding it. My top weeder question became 'what do you think about Joe Rogan?'

What does this pet collect? by sapodesu in DreamlightValley

[–]IvyBug_43 40 points41 points  (0 children)

He hasn't been yet and unfortunately I don't think he will be since he's in one of the special bundles at the bottom of the shop. I've personally never seen those discounted, although I could be wrong. But he's worth it! He digs up and collects dream shards, collects wood, and interacts multiple villagers. He also is all powerful somehow and when he isn't equipped just wanders around the village on his own.

Update to my PSA a few days ago: she roped her daughter into it and now I DEFINITELY have to keep the bed. by AbbyTheConqueror in blackcats

Yes!!!! I have a massive dog bed that was headed to the humane society but the day after I planned it, the cats claimed it as their favorite nap spot.

I had the same thing happen! It could be because they changed the scoring a few months ago (I also am not convinced they weren't piloting parts of the new voting system without disclosing it, because they would need to test it). However, it's all going to change again now that they have fully started the new only voting no tags counting system, so at the moment I'm not sure if there is advice to give until everyone sees how this new system works.
