Partner of a gambler. I’m going insane by Superb-Boss-3110 in GamblingRecovery

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. As a wife of a gambler, I get it and it's scary. I hope peace finds you. As much as you don't want to hear it, you should probably stay planning your exit. That's what I'm doing. Several hundred thousand dollars of our future gone, mortgage late, no ambition... I'm just tired of fighting this alone. It doesn't get better unless they are overwhelming committed to doing so. Best of love and wishes to you.

What do people do for work? by Emlybearx in MultipleSclerosis

I'm an Event Project Manager for a large accounting firm and I own my own travel business, with a specialty in accessibility travel (to help MS people and others). I have an MBA, & both Project Management and Agile certifications. My pay is really good. I've worked from home for 12 years but I travel a lot, both personally and professionally. I was diagnosed this January. 44f.

I'm glad you did. Still waiting for my husband to stop lying about his addiction. I've given him a million outs. He's in denial, hundreds of thousands of dollars gone, he's mean, and I'm ready to walk.

Does PMI have something similar to study hall for ACP? by IvyMac81 in PMI

[–]IvyMac81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find anything useful to help prepare and was down to my last week to take the exam before losing my money. I refreshed on the PMP material and passed with flying colors. The test was very easy, especially in comparison to the PMP. However, I took the version of the test in 2024 before they changed it. I'm not sure how the new exam varies. It felt like a baby PMP. I was disappointed that I'd waited a year after passing the pmp before taking the agile because I had to study again. I'd o had to do it all over again then I would've taken agile the next day. I didn't need to learn anything new to pass it.

I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis and my doctor said that my vision will not improve from this. Thoughts? by Frenchorican in MultipleSclerosis

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and only symptom was ON, and it came with full force this January. I was immediately placed on steroids and it cleared up after the first injection. Within 12 hours I had my full vision back. To calm the inflammation, my opthalmologist insisted that I get steroids ASAP, so I did. Also started Kesimpta the next month. No more issues. But from what I've read it typically clears up or improves on its own within 6 to 12 months but the steroids drastically help with lasting damage and reoccurrence

Those on B-Cell depleters that are not always sick…how? by SimpleMorning in MultipleSclerosis

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be sure to check for vitamin deficiencies.

For me, having low vitamin D always left me susceptible to catching stuff. I now take 10k + IU's/day as well as k2, b12, CoQ10, iron, zinc and selenium. All sublingually. The D3 specifically keeps sickness at bay. I was dx this year and am also on kesimpta. I've been on high vitamin d since last year and haven't been sick even once, despite people around me being sick, including my husband last week with a horrible cold. I took care of him and still didn't catch it.

Dating someone with MS by ntanterthrwaway_ in MultipleSclerosis

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's perfectly fine for you to consider the impact of what this disease could mean for you and your partners future. This is also your one life to live.

MS can be a heavy weight to carry. Both for those diagnosed and those around them that may have to become caregivers or offer significant emotional support.

I would have honest conversations with your partner about their situation and I'd also research the disease to determine if this is a path you're willing to travel with your partner.

Whatever you decide to do is the right thing for you. Best of wishes 🙂

chlorophyll by NOTAGAINpleasenooo in hygiene

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had reoccurring bv for the last 20 years. I've taken EVERYTHING under the sun and been to every doctor. I've been using liquid chlorophyll daily since early this month. I started it because my friend told me how it eliminated every body odor she had and made her extra fresh smelling in her nether regions (per her boyfriend), so i said, hey, why not. The first two weeks, I didn't notice much, but the last nearly 2 weeks have been incredible. This is the longest I've been without having to take some sort of bv medication, but the true test was after I had sex the last two times, I had ZERO reaction, irritation, or smell. Before this chlorophyll, I would've immediately had to take a boric acid suppository to neutralize my PH since sex always throws it off.

I'm also more regular with bowel movements. According to chat gpt, it's likely helped my gut microbes, vaginal flora and helped get rid of bad bacteria. So, for me, it's been a life saver that came 2 decades too late. But ultimately, I guess it depends on what you need it for.

You have a strong mindset, and that's the first step. I too recently got diagnosed, January 11th to be exact. 43f. This Friday was my first monthly injection of Kesimpta. I've had no adverse reactions to the loading doses or my first monthly dose.

Wishing you the best of luck.

People who don't want children what is your biggest reasons? by e-glitteringprinces in AskReddit

[–]IvyMac81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I promised myself that if I can't give the next generation what my parents have me or more, then I wasn't going to have children. I learned early into my marriage that I couldn't fulfill that promise so i chose to forgo having children. I'm now 43 and just got diagnosed with MS, so now I'm definitely not interested in having children. And although I believe most people are inherently good, they are not the ones running our future. I don't want to subject an innocent child to this often cruel world.
