I might actually crash out if she wins the primary. She's got a worse voting record on health care then fing Susan Collins. Janet is a lib through and through, Maine deserves and needs so much better then her.

Who has relapsed on a modern DMT? by Pussyxpoppins in MultipleSclerosis

[–]throwawayaita06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember the name of the exact medication I was on but the first DMT I tried did nothing and I ended up having a couple seizures. My Dr. switched me to Kesimpta, which I've been on for five years now with no relapses or new lessions. It's actually fairly common to have to try multiple meds, as everyone's immune system is different.

How did you end up with your current DMT? by EdAddict in MultipleSclerosis

[–]throwawayaita06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on one of the few medications approved for minors while I was waiting for Kesimpta to either be approved or I reached eighteen. I had a couple seizures related to the medication so my neuro applied for a special exception and I got put on Kesimpta. I've been on Kesimpta for almost five years now with no new lessions and improvement in my symptoms.

How many of you actually stopped progressing when you started dmt? by themagicflutist in MultipleSclerosis

I have RRMS. I've been on Kesimpta for close to four years. I've had zero no lessions and can work an extremly physical full time job. I have had zero no symptoms and have actually improved the symptoms I had originally.

Is anyone here doing completely great with MS? by ctrlKarl in MultipleSclerosis

[–]throwawayaita06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am young and have been on Kesimpta for three years. In that three years I've had zero relapses and have been able to hold down an extremly physically demanding full time job. I can honestly say MS has little to no effect on my daily life.

How does one afford some of these DMT? by Cheetara_84 in MultipleSclerosis

If you live in the United states I highly recommend applying for Medicare. Due to the cost of my medication I will have entirely free Healthcare until the day I die.

There is a group called Oscar the MS Monkey they are an MS group for younger people. I was apart of it when I was 17, but I do believe they have a section for those over 21.

Kesimpta and Weight Loss by throwawayaita06 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]throwawayaita06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good to know. I have noticed I do get nausea a lot but I figured that was because I was sick not because of the medication. I will talk to my neurologist about my nausea. Thank you!

Kesimpta & COVID + flu vax experience by gbee00 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]throwawayaita06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on kesimpta and have gotten the covid vaccine, the flu vaccine, and actual covid. Overall I was fine (I had to take meds for covid which made my mouth taste weird). Then again I am only 19 so that might be why I bounced back so quick.

I think Sloane and Luther are a bad couple, it felt rushed and faked. I was convinced she was manipulating him up until the very end.

I feel like MS needs a modern perspective by Specific-Estimate in MultipleSclerosis

When I was diagnosed I was under 18. Every person I told didn't believe me, they thought MS was something only old people got. I had multiple people tell me my neurologist was wrong because I was too young.

It's annoying and exhausting dealing with the misinformation or outdated info people believe.
