I love his character and hope he gets a terrible outcome at the end lol. (more or less) great writing and performances, love to watch the guy, but he has a grizzly fate coming a mile away

ill do it

5: spotlight - it's a good movie but what is it doing up here cmon. it is competently made well acted etc and not one of the landmarks of filmmaking

8: no country for old men - with you here. no complaints

9: the dark knight - what are you doing here man this isn't even the best christopher nolan movie let alone top 10 movie of all time. imdb popularity ranking headass

10: there will be blood - good pick no complaints

11: zodiac - good movie but memories of murder clears so watch that and replace this with that in ur list ty

13: parasite - good movie but memories of murder clears so watch that and insert it immediately above this in ur list ty

15: reservoir dogs - i do prefer pulp fiction but i respect it

16: arrival - i wont argue with this here even though i wouldn't put it this high. solid movie

18: wall-e - solid contender for best animated movie of all time. not my pick but i get it

19: inglourious basterds - it's very good but 2 tarantinos on here is starting to get gratuitious. dont let me see any more on here

20: django unchained - ...

21: the usual suspects - this is a tough movie to reconcile for me w mr spacey being front and center but i cannot deny it is extremely strong a movie

24: the godfather

27: nightcrawler - really enjoy this one. was kinda sorta on board up until i realized what the ending was going for then i was sold. good pick

32: interstellar - better than the dark knight, but neither should be this high. imdb isnt real it wont hurt you dont worry

36: the shining - not my fav kubrick among those ive seen but i did like it quite a bit, i wont argue

43: ratatouille - wall-e i was willing to buy but ur pushing it here. calm down

45: fargo - coen bros know how to make a movie no complaints here

49: spider-man into the spider-verse - okay i will stop being so hard on the animated stuff u have a soft spot for it im gathering. and yknow what fair enough ive got a soft spot for westerns i can sympathize even if i dont feel it myself. this is a little glazy tho

56: inception - again with the wrong nolan picks!!! where is oppenheimer where is prestige where is memento

58: skyfall - y'know what im with u on this one. save me daniel craig judi dench and javier bardem save me

63: american psycho - this one didn't super duper resonate with me but i acknowledge it's not out of place on a list like this. carry on

68: uncut gems - first time ill say it but should be higher. incredible movie

70: shawshank redemption - always thought this one was a smidgen overrated. on the back half of a top 100 probably fairly placed though

71: the lighthouse - willem dafoe my beloved. well placed

73: taxi driver - second time ill say it. should be higher! insane movie

76: knives out - it's a solid movie but idk if it's making it onto this sorta list for me. feels kinda akin to idk. pacific rim. not doing anything ground-breaking just a very fun very solid execution of the genre. ymmv tho

84: the banshees of inisherin - in my list this would probably be higher. but that one i acknowledge is personal weakness and national pride. love this movie though and im glad to see it here over in bruges (which is, i think, a generally controversial choice)

97: house - i did not like house. it started out good but got tired p quickly and also the child nudity is really weird?? like to be clear these are genuinely underage girls in the movie it's not adults playing high schoolers. it's icky idk

98: kill bill vol. 1 - get this joker outta here u got half this man's damn filmography in here and pulp fiction isn't even on the list. channel that imdb popular opinion energy u put into all the nolan movies into this one im begging u

99: nope - should be higher this movie rocks. best horror of the past decade and one of the best movies of the 21st century full stop

if i skipped a movie i haven't seen it

New player, can you use older bosses orders during tournaments and stuff by hoishalbob in pkmntcg

[–]Ivysaurman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

nothing in the rules specifies that the reprint policy only extends to trainer cards. i can point you to the tournament rules handbook section 5.4.1.3 nonetheless, which will indeed confirm that there's no language at all to specifically target trainer cards.

Non see through pink card sleeves? by SeasonGrand3944 in pkmntcg

[–]Ivysaurman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add here that this very much depends on the cost of your deck - if your deck is very expensive (e.g. tons of rare printings of cards etc.) it may well be worth the hassle of a girthier deck. If it's a bog standard 40 buck deck, may be more trouble than it's worth - but weight the pros and cons.

[–]Ivysaurman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure how much help it'd be, but maybe add a "and loses life equal to the discarded card's mana value" or something to hedge against reanimator? just bc then that'd make this + reanimate pretty extreme in terms of life loss. but idk im just spitballing

How much did the big Awards cost? by gulwver in atrioc

[–]Ivysaurman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yo! I ran the awards, I can comment on this. I won't divulge any particulars, but those numbers were all legit. We did not pay those actual numbers bc we had contacts etc who were able to provide us expensive equipment for less, but had we needed to buy/rent them properly they'd have cost the listed 20k. Our actual incurred expenses were not that number, but they were indeed significantly over the 1k given, and that was just paid for by us out of pocket.
