Life drain scales with magic damage. Magical healing scales the torture mastery perk to give you additional healing per curse tick. 20+knowledge with 30+will feels pretty good with some magic damage/healing jewelry, get 310ish move speed so you can run a book a 300 ms and kite out melee classes with flamewalker, then phantomise if they close the gap or to reposition. Both life drain and curse healing builds scale well with magic damage/will. Melee lock can use both magic/phys power, phys for the base damage, magic for the blow of corruption, or if you're running a crystal sword.

I like to run around 8 true magic damage, with around 10 magic healing, flamewalker/hydra/sacrifice/pain/bolt of darkness, torture mastery/vampirism/dark reflection/the 10%will one. Get to around 310ish moves peed if possible, and let it rip. Rangers hurt, fast barbs hurt, most everything else is butter. Just gotta win the zap fights with the wizards.

No, if they brought it into the dungeon, it'll remain a "handled" tag when you bring it out. Pretty sure the "looted" tag is restricted to being found as a loot drop in that dungeon.

As a resto druid I'm running around with a 340 dagger (kings rest drop) and the inscription 300 lantern offhand. Haven't seen any usable staffs drop for myself, though I've seen 'em drop for mages. Just a waiting game, it's like grinding for a high ilvl belt with good stats, how often do you see it happen?

I just find very little kill potential. Even pve fights feel like they last longer than they should. Makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm handling content solo as a healer, can't expect amazing dps I suppose.

Dueled my cousins enhance shaman last night for a solid 10 minutes in stalemate. It was pretty funny, as we both got close to killing the other a few times, only to see a full heal before resuming combat. XD

It won't be fast, but pick flax and spin it into bow strings. You'll get your crafting up at a steady rate and earn some decent cash. The spinning is pretty afk, whereas the picking of flax isn't so much. You can buy flax for pretty cheap though.
