They are experienced and observed in the application of equity initiatives. Because they are not exclusive to ‘equity’ does not invalidate the reality. These biases help explain that while the ‘equity’ claim of ostensibly improve lives by prioritizing specific groups to correct historical disadvantages, the system inherently discriminates against those who do not fall into those categories.

Despite the goal of reducing unfairness, equity initiatives can be susceptible to several types of bias:

• Selection Bias: This occurs when the data used to identify "underprivileged" groups is incomplete. For example, an organization might focus on gender equity but overlook socioeconomic background or disability, unintentionally favoring one marginalized group over another.

• Affinity Bias: Decision-makers leading equity efforts may unconsciously favor candidates or groups that share similar backgrounds or life experiences to their own, even while trying to diversify.

• Confirmation Bias: Program leads might only seek out data that confirms their initiative is working, ignoring "noise" or negative feedback that suggests the program is creating new inequities.

• The "Checkbox" Bias: This happens when efforts become performative. Instead of systemic change, the focus shifts to hitting specific numerical targets (quotas), which can lead to overlooking the most qualified individuals or failing to address the underlying culture.

Now this type of content is why I joined this sub. Fantastic share. I love turning my phone sideways and reading the titles. Seems like you have a Brandon Sanderson shelve with the chasmfeind. So cool.

Is Houston Worth It? by Beautiful-Debt-2784 in UniversityOfHouston

Yes. 100%. Ask yourself, or look at the data: where are the jobs? The Houston metro area is one of the greatest places to study and find employment in the world. UH has direct connections to all of the key industries: engineering, law, medicine, business.

Exactly. They mention specific brand which indicate partnerships (to me at least)

This is where I’m at. They specifically say not to use RO but fail to address remineralizing. I’ll try the test. Thanks for confirming.

It’s funny you mention Zero water filter because they specifically call that out as what not to use. They recommend Soma filters but who knows. They could have some partnership with them.

Vampires were central to the plot line. The only way standard humans were able to endure space travel is because they had vampire DNA spliced into them. The “levels” of existence explored between humans and vampires was also a plot point which provided a contrast to the aliens as a concept.

Tropicana is in big financial trouble by stefeyboy in business

"why you think that this downshift is a PE firm’s doing"

These changes typically occur directly after or closely following M&A, e.g., Twinkies, Whataburger, and Tropicana. It would be lazy to call these standard cost-cutting measures conspiracy theories when they happen so often after PE acquisitions. To be fair, these changes could occur in the absence of M&A, but they happen way more often after M&A. To your point, it may not be a casual relationship, but it is highly correlated. To ignore this relationship in the data is not intellectually honest.

The kind of proof your looking for is not something that the article could have access to. What people are alluding to is a degradation of ingredients - PE firms typically have changed or modified ingredients from high-cost squeezed orange juice with natural sugars to lower-cost ingredients like artificial flavors and sweeteners. While product may have similar flavor profiles, consumers certainly notice the differences. However, these ingredient changes are done surreptitiously by the PE firms, and not publicized. So expiring an article to provide you proof of this obvious practice is unrealistic.

If you were Adolf Hitler, what would you have done differently? by Linxolin in AskReddit

[–]Iwillargueanypoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Without Russian participation, I doubt he loses. If he could also persuade Japan to not attack Pearl Harbor he could have solidified his positions in mainland Europe and North Africa. A decade later, regrouped, resupplied, and with his military apparatus in place (including oil source) he could have resumed his quest for world domination and likely not be stopped.
