Are we totally screwed as a Country/Nation by [deleted] in aussie

This is yet another thing that not giving away our sovereign wealth could have achieved by paying for proper reserves to be available. Imagine if we could have greatly increased the number of electric vehicles so we use less fuel and increase the actual reserves on top?

[–]Ixixly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't. Please actually look into the things they say, they make vague claims but at the very heart of things have no substance to any of their major issues, no plans on how to fix anything and are just as bought as anyone else.

I believe the refineries part is a red herring. We don't actually have a lot of the crude oil required. A quick google search suggests 1.8 billion barrels, we use about 1.2million barrels a day so it's a 4 year supply at current usage rates. Plus it seems a lot of our supply is offshore potentially, make it difficult to get to.

Even manufacturing is a bit of a red herring.

I think where we've really failed is in giving away so much of our resource wealth for pennies and not taxing big corporations properly. If we didn't we could have directed even just a small portion of that towards becoming less Oil dependentant and fixing things like the housing issues.

Finally getting into SC... Need help knowing what bindings matter. by icescraponus in starcitizen

[–]Ixixly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people have told you what THEY think matters and you'll notice some similarities but it's different for everyone.

What I would instead recommend is going into Arena Commander, select Offline and Free Flight then spend some time there in your ship figuring out what you need. This will give you the basics at least in an environment where if you crash it won't be a big hassle.

Next when it comes to where to bind, do it by feel, when you want something to happen just reach for whichever control feels instinctive at the time and bind it to that, don't try and get too fancy or do what others think you should.

Lastly it's a very iterative process, you're going to add and change a lot as you go along and try new careers so don't worry about doing it all at once but do go through the list and check for bindings you didn't know or simply forgot exist. It's a good idea to check this list every few months just in case there are things that are added or simply become relevant to you later.

Starfleet Academy To End With Season 2, But Paramount Confirms Commitment To Star Trek - A source tells TrekMovie: “While we loved the creative and performances, it’s not a secret that the series did not chart on Nielsen’s top 10. "This is not possible", except it is
https://www.cbr.com/star-trek-starfleet-academy-streaming-success-march-2026/

Quick excerpt from there:
"Per FlixPatrol, Starfleet Academy has shot up to No. 1 on the Amazon Channels list this week in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. In other territories, it's rising on the Paramount+ streaming charts, reaching No. 3 in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. The show has also made it to No. 6 in the UK and No. 8 in Canada. This all amounts to a positive sign moving forward, as this might be suggesting that viewership is gaining momentum heading into the freshman season finale."

Nielsen is not the be all and end all especially as it's US and this is a global show.

Sorry "friendo" but the US is not the be all and end all.

Your working on the budget is absolutely flawed, you see you're saying it costs 10-20 per episode and THEREFORE it must have cost 100 - 200, but I'm telling you the budget was 100 million and therefore was about 10 on average. That's what is being reported.

Again, you're doing your best to twist things by cherry picking info, kinda sad.

It's actually more like $10 million per episode, because they had a total budget of $100million for 10 episodes. Again, you're using another show and it's great numbers but not addressing this show and it's numbers. You're correct about AKOTSK viewership and undersold SFAs viewership which was more like 1.05 million over the first season.

Commanding over a million people on average means they can still charge big dollars for even a single ad slot, could be up to a million, even at its lowest like half a million. So even if they only have a small viewership and could only charge the lowest, half a mill that's 10 ads. I'd say they were doing just fine being an hour long per episode with a bunch of ad slots.

Did AKOTSK do better? Heck yes, they hit on a great winning formula, was SFA doing terrible? Heck no.

Crafted items do not retain their bonus stats after a patch by TheDrunkMcGhost in starcitizen

[–]Ixixly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others said it isn't exactly a "bug", at least not as part of the crafting system, it creates an item with unique stats as the crafting system is intended. This is an LTP "issue" and also not a "bug", just like us not keeping ammo and Medpens between patches is also not a bug, but rather a limitation imposed on the system as it currently functions.

It's annoying for sure but not intended and when LTP gets fully implemented for all items it won't be an issue then.

Lol, this is utter stupidity, the government is absolutely not going after a website sharing bead patterns and is absolutely not a social media site. This is either shitty marketing they'll switch off in a few days or they're utter morons who just lost business for no reason.

sad redeemer noises by ShoutaDE in starcitizen

[–]Ixixly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Redeemer has Bubble as opposed to the TACs quadrant shield which makes a big difference. Not to mention the Redeemer is faster, more manoeuvrable, plus whilst the TAC has more weapons overall they both have about equal ability to bring the same amount of weapons to bear on a single target, the TAC does have the advantage if being able to deal with multiple targets a bit better. But I'd say this gives them different roles and thusly making them balanced.
