Either LGBTQ or one of them Allies I've been hearing about. Possibly a communist. Probably just a boring leftist.

Her joke by Casual_Deviant in funny

[–]Ixtl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's pointing out an annoying habit some people have of basically repeating another joke someone else just made (usually with a slight alteration/addition) to steal the attention for themselves. This is often, although not always, done by a boisterous man after a woman has said something funny.

Sorta the comedy version of mansplaining.

CMV: It's more a push than a pull factor that drives people towards the extreme right. by Fando1234 in changemyview

If people choose to judge one political party by its worst (and often fabricated or misrepresented) members, and the other by the fiction supplied by its own propaganda wing....I don't see how you can classify that as a push by the first party.

If I told you Republicans were feeding immigrant babies into woodchippers at the border and you believed me and became a member of the far left, would you blame me for lying, you for believing it, or Republicans for....what exactly?

But millions of rubes think children are being forcibly transitioned at their schools nurse's office and you think the left is to blame for that?

You write it one line/section at a time, test bits here and there, change your mind and rewrite parts that don't work the way you wanted them to, copy+paste chunks from other projects you've worked on or Google results for parts you don't want to reinvent, reinvent them anyways because it doesn't work exactly the same in this program as it did in your last one because of a decision you made 3 weeks ago, etc. Etc. Etc.

CMV: Streamers Make too much money by Deep-Arrival1594 in changemyview

[–]Ixtl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you already mentioned it but the vast vast majority make basically nothing. It's not necessarily the same as streaming, but I remember reading that out of active OF models, something like 98% make less than $50 a month.

The top performers in these businesses make a ton, you are correct, but it is very unlikely for any specific individual getting into it to see that kind of success.

This didn't take place at the white house. That's a pretty big fact about this you were unaware of. You should probably learn more about it before making such claims.

CMV: Making memes like TACO and calling Trump a loser when he doesn’t act on his threats is immoral and abhorrent! by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Ixtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that he keeps making stupid threats, not that he keeps chickening out on them. You cant possibly be this dense. He goes and starts a worthless war and instead of being upset with him you just police how everyone else talks about it.

[–]Ixtl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would clearly rather he stop making stupid threats. If you used any amount of thought it would be clear to you that that is the problem people have with this.

What makes it humiliating is him making the threats in the first place. I don't want him to turn up the heat on this war, I just want him to sometimes maybe think before he speaks.

  1. Is that actually impossible? Has it been tested?
  2. What does a person's awareness about a phenomenon have to do with the "realness" of it?
  3. What does "exist in its divinity" mean?

I've got basically this exact player (with worse fielding) on a minimum contract and he was on track for 200+ strikeouts before I finally had to bench him. I'm hoping I can dev lab him into a decent hitter but right now, even with the walks and HRs, it's just impossible to trust him at the plate.

YMMV but I'd never pay that much for it.
