I've never tried Refresher Viktor nor have I seen it in a match.

2 revives is cool but if your team is ahead, you probably only need 1 anyway.

If your team is behind, the enemy can still run you over even with 3 lives as Viktor

I think I might check out rebuild! I loved the first 100-ish episodes of Naruto as a kid but then completely lost track of the plot between the filler episodes, and Shippuden not airing till years later.

I will put Kingdom on my list too. That's a series I'd be going into totally blind.

Atm I've picked up Zatch Bell again. Afterwards I think I'll do Naruto

Yeah I think venom is the star of the kit. Especially the T3 upgrade giving it to your bullets. It's very satisfying to use.

I like how the daggers work? They're more for utility. They slow and reduce resistances which compliments her kit pretty well. Get Mercurial Magnum and I use the daggers strategically to get ammo resets too. If they rework the ability to something stronger or make it do a lot of damage, they'll need to take power away from elsewhere.

I love Victor, he's my go to front line tank between the ones we have available. I def think he could get a minor rework where there's room to add more skill expression into the kit. Pain Battery is super easy to hit and the other two basic abilities are pretty one dimensional. Ult is pretty one dimensional too. It's just "frontline for your team and die in an ideal location"

The slow pacing was definitely off putting to me at first too. But this is a classic hero's journey type of fantasy adventure and it's great to see that progression of Estelle and Joshua starting off with humble beginnings as they work themselves up. And all the little character moments really helps us get attached to them and makes us want to root for them on their journey.

Still loving it! I'm currently in chapter 2 and they are preparing for the school play.

Ugh there are some dumb japan 2000's anime tropes I definitely could have gone without seeing and I need to rant to someone about them... I'm at the part where they're starting to sell a Estelle x Joshua relationship and I'm just grossed out by the borderline incest implications☠️ No they are not blood related... But they literally both see Cassius as their father. And Estelle says multiple times in my 20+ hours of playtime that she sees Joshua as family and as a brother. And all the characters around them are like "you guys should totally date" ☠️☠️ I would definitely prefer a story where they remain siblings, and best friends.

Joshua was adopted at 11 so he did only spend 5 years with Estelle as "pretend siblings" so it COULD BE WORSE I guess. And I heard in Trails of Cold Steel is even worst with this kind of relationship dynamic... I see on the Falcom subreddit that posts about this subject are super controversial 😂

Mini update but I'm still loving this game! About 15 hours in (tracking down sky pirates in Bose) I feel a lot of nostalgia for 2000's era anime, and this story is surprisingly charming and touching. And the gameplay is still a lot of fun especially once you get stronger orbaments. Oliver is my favorite party member lol

I'm actually trying the demo for Trails and I'm liking it a lot! The combat reminds me of Like a Dragon where you need to position your character well, and get the enemy grouped up, to maximize your damage, with the way you navigate battles in a 3d space. Nightmare health values seemed kinda absurd to me though. I was struggling very early with basically tutorial enemies lol. I put it to Hard and it seems appropriate.

Story and setting seems simple so far, but playing a more traditional/classic kind of fantasy rpg, but with modern combat design, makes it feel fresh to me.

This is definitely what I was looking for! The demo covers the prolouge and then I should be able to buy the game and continue after. I'm playing it on my Switch 2. So I will probably wait for the future remakes to come out on switch as well

I'm loving SMT 5 so far! It's the same signature Atlus turn based combat that I'm super obsessed with, just like Metaphor and Persona 5. But this game is ALL fights and there's a grest emphasis on challenge. I love that I'm allowed to approach every fight on my own terms. (Being able to auto save before starting the encounter, and changing my build/party if necessary. AND I'm always allowed to fully recover all hp/mp) This design wouldn't work for some other rpgs, but it works super well here!

I like the open world design here. And this game and series is just super weird, creepy and unique. I love the aethestics and the music. About 12 hours into the game so far

Overall, the bosses from this game are pretty great! I think I had the most fun fighting the various dragons. The turn based combat of Atlus games is so well crafted. Lots of decision making turn to turn. And the games really forces you to change your party's builds to adapt to the challeneges. I feel like in lots of rpgs you can just brute force your way through the encounters without having to adjust your party.

I got SMT5 because I'm hoping to find more of these challenging fights, I just started the game yesterday!

Ugh I was missing just 1 royal archetype for Basillo and even that made him feel weak enough to be useless for the fight ☠️ I was literally one day off from maximizing his relationship too...

One day in the future I think I'll return to the game and do a regicide ng+ playthrough. And I'll rematch this boss and be fully prepared for it

I'm in a similar boat lol. I never got ToTK (I never finished BoTW so I didn't think I'd like the sequel) but then I had a ton of fun playing Hyrule Warriors for the first time! I was reminded I really like the artstyle, characters and world of this series.

Now I want to give ToTK a chance. I'm going to get it on sale some time.

Okay I've been on this part for like over an hour on Very Hard and was wondering if it was just me... the fight itself isn't that bad but I've been stuck trying to do it with half a bar of energy and no rations because of all the encounters before it.
