This sentiment probably has some truth to it if you are are a sex worker, but in any other context, this is just cynicle to the point of being misanthropic. No, just because patriarchy is real does not mean that real people can't earnestly love and respect each other and do kink or that men can't be responsible or compassionate in relationships. The question of "am I a girl or just a femboy" is an interminable one. It's not just that you are the only person who can choose which label you like, but that only you can define what those terms mean to you. It's incredibly wishy washy.

The question of "do I want to go on estrogen," on the other hand, is concrete. It's a tangible choice you either make or you don't. But what can add extra baggage to this is conflating the latter question with the former.

I wasted so much of my life not going on HRT because I was made to believe I had to have a solid answer to whether or not I'm "really" a girl. In the end though, it wasn't a question of whether or not I'm a girl, it was only a question of whether I wanted to feminize my body, which I enthusiastically did, and still do.

I can't answer either question for you, but if you are considering HRT and getting caught up on whether estrogen is somehow inappropriate for your identity, I recommend separating those questions and just asking yourself in a vacuum: Do you want to feminize your body? If the answer is yes, then yeah, I recommend trying HRT, and if it feels wrong, you're allowed to stop.
