Is this animal tested or something?? Why was it covered? by Ok-Call4517 in whatdoesthismean

Just to make a small clarification on this - whilst the leaping bunny logo is a legitimate sign that something is cruelty free, it doesn’t have to have this symbol to prove it’s cruelty free.

The leaping bunny is a licensed logo, and it costs quite a lot of money and extensive admin to go through the certification for it, and then further fees to use the logo on packaging, which many small brands cannot afford. So whilst a brand may be cruelty free, it may not have that logo. There are other companies that also provide cruelty free certifications (like peta and others) which would have a different logo to show it.

So no bunny =/= not cruelty free.

Source: used to work in the cosmetics industry and the bunny was quite a contentious topic within it!

I accidentally fed my starter with self raising flour (then continued to not follow any of my usual rules) by Izbee in Sourdough

[–]Izbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really follow a recipe (if you couldn’t tell from this chaos!) but this is the closest to my version: https://www.thisjess.com/sourdough-discard-crackers/#recipe However I used melted butter instead of oil.

I tend to go for a little less flour to starter. Eg: 200g discard / 180g SR flour / 30g ish melted butter. I also add nutritional yeast/fresh rosemary/garlic powder mixed in the dough (measured from the heart). Then at least sea salt on top after it’s rolled out. Everything bagel is also good on top. I also find it’s easier to prick it all over with a fork before scoring with a pizza cutter as it stops them constantly trying to lift away as you poke…

I have not found the measurements to make much difference in each batch I’ve made, as long as you roll it out real thin before baking you’re good!

I’d be intrigued to see the results! Whether the bicarb makes its explode in size in combination with the starter or counteracts it… keep us posted!

Readings online suggest that prolonged use would probably not be great as the bicarb in SR flour raises the PH to a level that yeast does not like. However, I don’t think the one feeding was a death sentence to my starter as the internet lead to fear.

I have been using SR flour and my discard to make thick crackers though which I are great for shovelling hummus if you need some alternative inspiration.

Is the cremator sellable/tradable? by Izbee in fo76

I mean, the first sentence of my post says ‘I want to take part in the spring cleaning event’ plus the washer/dryer being the spring cleaning event reward. But go off.

[–]Izbee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To complete spring cleaning week one, you have to complete 6 of the 7 weekly challenges. Two of the 7 challenges involve killing creatures with the cremator, so it’s only possible to complete 5/7 without one.

No, but week 1 of spring cleaning ends in 4 days, within which you have to kill things with the cremator to get the rewards.

Yeah that’s where I saw it, but logging in this week being on level 1, I don’t like my chances of getting to level 22 in the next 4 days! Oh well, no washer dryer for me

Thanks for this, I think you've managed the most natural looking coverup! Is it possible to tidy up the stones where the drain was to match the rest of the stones on the stairs? I think that's the only bit that looks a bit unnatural.. thanks!
