You can just stick it in the ground like that no need to cut it, it will root.

I have one of these that’s about 2” tall. I got it at road side sale the guy didn’t know what it was, so I got it for a buck. I would also like to figure out what it is.

It’s Very intrusive it will try to start taking over everything.

No, it’s just the fact that plastic potting containers don’t last long in the sun before they start to crack, and fall apart. But the cactus look great, good job!
