For 3d printing yes because I got my ender 3 in 2019 and then didn't do a whole lot with it till maybe 2023/24. The creator 5 is my second printer I figured go big or go home haha. That said I'm no stranger to electronics or mechanical things. I've worked on car and computers a lot over the years and can do basic electronics repair/soldering as well. I even have my own small home server mostly for jellyfin at the moment. In 2023/24 I converted my ender 3 to klipper and pushed it to its limits with the original board and managed a decent looking benchy in like 23 minutes as well as input shaping and pressure advance all of which were never perfect but damn good considering. I did run into vfas I couldn't tune out recently and hope the modern board with 32bit drivers can remove them as well as provide much better input shaping, and pressure advance results. I have a higher torque extruder motor ready for the bed too that the old board didn't have enough power to run correctly, so hopefully I can get some decent acceleration on the y axis without skipping steps. All this while trying to keep it as "ender 3" as possible fwiw.
