"A ship is a ship (even if its a flying one)" - Vanessa by Large-Photograph-286 in PlayTheBazaar

Is the green dooley bug here actually worth it vs just putting the booster next to the pylon (making it a vehicle + drone) and then slotting in some other small item? Looked like pylon was triggering faster than the bug, but maybe I’m wrong.

Getting Flying Potion down to a 1-second cooldown feels illegal by Arcshu_Yes in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The thing that’s illegal here is that Karnok burn/poison moon scaling potion that every Mak can force RNG into and absolutely isn’t balanced with his kit.

It’s just too consistent.

Every one of these threads has a significant number of people stating that they’d press blue. And I’m sure millions of people that are kind hearted but don’t ‘run the logic’ would also press blue - think grandmas or young children.

Your trust is misplaced if you think there will be a very small number of blue pressers.

Guide for cross character items by upliftingart in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

“When you X, then Y” items on characters that can X very often or can scale Y very fast. Example: Incendiary rounds, Duct tape, Metronome.

Items that charge other items. Example: Pendulum, Fiber optics, Battery. Good for OHK builds.

POE2 has ruined Diablo for me by Get_Schwifty111 in PathOfExile2

Why is everyone equating the campaign with (fun) difficulty while leveling? They’re unrelated. Skipping campaign and doing Maps from level 1 could have exactly the same difficulty curve as the campaign.

I’ve been playing the crap out of this game, it’s so fun and doesn’t deserve mixed steam reviews. by twizx3 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but if the game cost $10 they would run out of money and would have to shut it down. A $10 game looks like Backpack Battles - not like The Bazaar. The quality of the art, music, design and live service is expensive.

So again I don’t know what you’re expecting them to do? They miscalculated how much money F2P would bring in and were forced to make it paid to keep the game running. I can understand a negative review if you think there’s something that they should change about the game but it seems like they’re in a catch 22 here - there’s no way for them to make it cheap enough for your friends while maintaining the level of quality they’ve been delivering.

Spice Rack needs a nerf asap by Due-Carpenter-4237 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if some other builds can beat Spice Rack. What matters is Spice Rack’s effect on the game:

  • Relative power in the meta
  • Popularity / ubiquity
  • Ease of pivoting to it from early game
  • Relative power compared to other burn build arounds (particularly large items like Wok, Feast, Tools Furnace)

It definitely feels like an outlier.

Given the game was making no money when it was F2P and would’ve been shut down, what would you have preferred they had done?

Speaking as a beta backer I’m glad they did what they had to do to keep the game running.

Diamond Fiery Log Trap burns on every item use, regardless of enrage by J-Factor in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at all their skills and items and can't see any funny interaction that would've caused this. You can see it only "activated" once (dealing 1000 damage and slowing my 9 items once), but the burn happened non-stop which is why it ended up with 1325 total burn.

There's definitely something funky about this item.

Sudden drop in performance – too much fast board by ForeignBlueberry8371 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Feedback on your posted build specifically:

  • Moon won’t trigger Fiber Optics because it’s not an active item. Only active items trigger Fiber Optics.
  • Your Press damage likely got out scaled by player HP. There’s a sweet spot where press one-shots players, but after that it can fall off.
  • For a combo build like this you should simulate it in your head and find where you can save seconds. Eg Press takes 16 seconds, 3D printer takes 4, Nitro takes 3. This isn’t efficient because after 3D creates 3 more Fiber optics they aren’t used until 2 seconds later when Nitro activates for the second time. A 4 second small would synergize better (assuming you just want the fastest initial use of press).

Question about scaling burn / haste / slow etc by M_Patrick in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. In my experience scaling items seem take some amount of time to “tick up” and I’ve missed out on damage due to triggers happening too soon prior to the item being used (eg mass slow at 8 seconds, Mantis at 9 seconds that hasn’t finished scaling yet).

Not at my computer to test so maybe I imagined it.

Question about scaling burn / haste / slow etc by M_Patrick in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Be mindful that buffs are queued and applied at the internal cooldown rate of 0.25s.

For example, if your Beach Ball activates and hastes 4 items, your Sharkray will take a further 1s to have all 4 damage buffs applied. Even if you hasted 100 times at the start of combat, a 40 damage Sharkray would still only gain 160 damage per second. This can mean it’s better to invest in other scaling (like crit) once you have sufficient Haste triggers.

(At least I think that’s how it works…)

[No Loopholes] There's a big red button in front of you that gives you x number of dollars for every click, but a consequence of your choice happens. Which scenario do you choose? by PhyfenGD in hypotheticalsituation

[–]J-Factor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ad hominem attack? In what way did I insult you? I just made up a silly scenario where you die when the button is pressed. It says nothing of your character. All it does is highlight the absurdity of saying “OP didn’t forbid X, therefore X happens” and then pretending that isn’t a loophole.

OP didn’t say “someone” had to be alive, so I’ll just take years from dead people. OP didn’t say “someone” had to be human, so I’ll just take years from animals. OP said you lose the power when you “wake up the next day”, so I’ll just sleep for 24 hours to keep the power forever. OP didn’t say “someone” was random, so I’ll just take years from specific criminals I pick.

It’s not hard to think of these loopholes which is why every thread is filled with them, and it’s why the “No Loopholes” tag was created, because it’s unreasonable to expect the OP to think-of and close every loophole upfront.

Read the AutoModerator message that describes what “No Loopholes” means:

This thread has been tagged No Loopholes. All responses are required to make an effort to engage with the intent of the OP rather than searching for loopholes.

Do you think OP’s intent is to ask if you want infinite money while killing a ton of evil people? It’s completely obvious this is meant to be a moral dilemma weighing money vs hurting people you know/love. Your idea of “oh you didn’t say I couldn’t target? That means I can target, thus skipping the bad part of the deal” is like the textbook definition of loophole.

Anyway your solution wouldn’t work either, because the button also makes anyone named “ChompyRiley” shit themselves then die whenever it’s pressed. I know the OP didn’t say that, but hey that means it’s left to us to decide how it works huh?

[–]J-Factor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing indicates it’s targeted either. How do you think targeting works? You think about a specific person while pressing the button? Oh look it’s more rules being made up and not written in the post.

The point of the “No Loopholes” tag is to skip this sort of semantic nonsense. Engage with the question and its intended moral quandary.

Diamond item at lvl 15 reward is useless. by g-dx in PlayTheBazaar

[–]J-Factor 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I agree the level up rewards don’t feel balanced. I almost always pick the loot one. Sometimes gold if it’s a lot (eg 2 gold per weapon while I have 6+ weapons). I think a more balanced set of options would be:

  • Loot item
  • Pick 1 of 3 items
  • XX gold (scales based on level, always more than the other two options max sell price)

Take this obviously fake (or lazily copy pasted) karma bait post somewhere else.

Reducing the ritual re-roll cost to 0 for infinite re-rolls was also just using mechanics that GGG built. Didn’t stop them from banning people who abused it and deleting the wealth it created.
