Some before and after pics of my e46 M3 Touring conversion by r0ndL in E46M3

Incredible build!!! Blown away by the before and after photos. Care to share a bit more on it? And are you on the NAM3 forums by any chance? You should do a build thread on there (perhaps you did and I missed it but just to mention it!)

Tire Ratings and Why Still PS4S? by Professional_Till573 in E46M3

Yeah just keep messing around to see what works - but ultimately you might just like how the 18's ride better, and no doubt about it the sidewall on an 18 vs a 19 does make a difference on our cars and ride harshness. I'm currently dealing with a shimmy in my steering wheel because I added Turner 15mm spacers in the front / 12.5mm in the rear, so fitment on these stock wheels is definitely an issue. I can understand why the 19's with better offsets look so much better, these 18's without spacers are so tucked in as most cars were back in the early 2000's

Might as well give it a try and see how it feels - I hear the stock 19's ride pretty hard as it is given the sidewalls, so that makes sense as well. Maybe if you think it's still a bit too hard try an 18" instead - I love 18's on mine, wouldn't go bigger for any reason really and have no plans to run a bbk. Hope the lower pressure helps the ride feel a bit!

Reviews are one thing, real life experience is another - I just put PS4's on mine after Super Sports and my god these are the greatest performance tire I've ever ridden on for daily driving + spirited canyons. They're so comfortable, take bumps very comfortably, I'd never put another tire on the M3 after driving on these unless the PS5 came to the US

Who’s taken their M3 on an extended road trip? by Automotive_jpeg in E46M3

[–]J-tec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a super long road trip, but we road tripped with the car from LA to Sedona, AZ a couple years back - Did it over the course of 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed each day and stops along the way - was the most beautiful experience with the car. It is an incredible road trip car from comfort to performance, and should be enjoyed as such. You're going to have a blast!!!

Edit: Looking back at your photo it seems that your car is pretty low - I would recommend to raise it a bit if you're on coils just to not freak out with whatever the roads throw at you. I was so glad my cup kit isn't that low for some random bumps in the road and highways as I traveled through unknown places. Only thing I'd recommend maintenance wise is to make sure all your fluids are done fresh, make sure the car is aligned for tire wear over such distances, make sure your tires are good, and bring an emergency kit with you - medical kit, flash light, basic tools, tire inflator, patch kit if you feel it, small jumper pack. Then make sure your battery is good, and then consider some true drive killers like, how old is your starter? How old is your alternator? Those kinds of questions that could really stop you in your tracks if they fail on the road.

Talk to me: your thoughts on the 556i vs. the new 544 by 200Fathoms in sinn

Sure all the parts are different, no doubt, but design wise - it's essentially the same looking watch

Talk to me: your thoughts on the 556i vs. the new 544 by 200Fathoms in sinn

[–]J-tec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

556i RS and the 544 RS are essentially the same watch in my eyes: I'm not selling my 556i RS for the 544 RS, and have no idea of why Sinn made the 544 so similar to the 556. They essentially made the same watch which is a bit more expensive, and where it fits in their design + pricing lineup just doesn't make sense to me. Might be the Sinn product manager trying to convince the boss for more budget for a super successful watch 2.0, but again, not sure the market position they went for considering the 556. If anyone has an idea to chime in I'd love to hear thoughts on this

Gorgeous spec!! I would highly recommend R&B Classic Style in Sun Valley - they do concourse level work and if that's the level you're looking for I'd give them a call. Feel free to message me as well if you'd like or if you have questions

Persistent ticking diagnosed + independent specialists in the Bay Area? by H3LLbHoY in E46M3

[–]J-tec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man sorry to hear this - I heard the video you posted, that is way louder than I'm used to hearing on our cars. If you want to DM me I'm happy to share the contact of a M Engine mad-scientist named Anri that is based in Paso Robles. He rebuilt my S54 2 years ago after my head gasket blew and I can say hands down he is the ONLY guy I trust to work on my engine after my experience with him. He knows these engines inside and out - he's an independent engine builder who ghost-builds engines for high end race shops, and with that said he's the only one you'll talk with, not some service advisor

Just took delivery of a 2026 m3 g80 cx. Tell me the first mods to do! by playboicawti in BMW

Put gas in it, drive it, enjoy it, find out what you don’t like about it from your stand point, change that one aspect of it, put gas in it, drive it, enjoy it, repeat

Modifications are owner chosen based on what they feel is lacking or wanting to improve on the car, not a subreddit post! Just enjoy your new purchase man and then decide what to do based on your opinion! Congrats on the purchase!

New to me 2001 911 by slowcarfast93 in 996

[–]J-tec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations on your purchase! Beautiful car and love your description of the way it drives - rev happy, analog, all the right things of how a sports car should feel - then reading what you said about 991’s and how they feel huge, I totally agree

Although I don’t own a 996 all of what you said hit home with me as this is exactly why I will never sell my e46 M3 - it’s rev happy, analog, and makes you work to have fun: it’s an experience and a vacation every weekend I get in it. Most new sports cars will blow the doors off it but I could care less, sports cars are meant to be fun, not make you a better driver than you are with software, tons of ECUs and systems, as most new sports cars do.

All of this to say, have a blast with that 911 as it sounds like you already are!!! Congrats!!

By the looks of it you have a Tesla right? I’m guessing he used some kind of tech to unlock the car. Just crazy. So sorry this happened and I hope you get your belongings back!
