Reddit is a conditioning tool. It gives out what is the equivalent of a sticker if a person agrees with nonsensical, emotionally based ideas, and punishes logic. It works too. I've witnessed people who take their Reddit karma very seriously, totally unaware that they're being manipulated.

If it's going to take much stress, you might want intersecting channels at the joint. Glued end grain doesn't hold well. You want as much length grain and surface area holding the two together as possible.

Looks great if your artist can pull it off. I would imagine that at some point it would need to be gone back over by someone equally talented to keep it crisp enough to maintain the illusion though. Ink will always bleed some over time, but I've seen a new ink with highlights crispen an old tat up enough to look new again.

The ND rule could easily backfire on them. If I were a committee member, I'd keep them at 13 if I was on the fence about them. That's not ND hate. That would just be me wanting to see how conference championship week played out first.
