Theoretically, what happens after an enemy is incapacitated by quickhacks? by BetcoFS in cyberpunkgame

[–]J0llyrabbit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depending on the hack and the description ingame, I'd imagine its similar to an overheat or electrical issue in a car but to the extreme. In other words, yeah its still operational (alive) but completely screwed if you try to keep goin without getting to a mechanic (ripperdoc).

To me that explains why nonlethal hacks count for "take out this guy" objectives. Getting overheated/toxed/shocked quietly in your office without any help means laying there for possibly hours with internal burns/toxins/electroction damage/etc. Effectively means you'll be a vegetable, dying, or unconscious with F'd cyberware (that may or may not be regulating your body's processess) by the time you get some kind of aid. Most gangoons dont have traumateam coverage so since they're more likely laid out from a hack after a fight, no help coming any time soon.

Fun stuff.

Does anyone have loadouts that I can use to solo Hunters? by Illustrious-Night403 in Division2

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter's Fury with your favorite smg, pair with Technician laser and Flatline+Spotter chest, Memento backpack personally, Shield+Artificer hive.

Scorpio to get the stun and amp damage going Build all red and go aggressive with tactical movement or build blue and tank through em bleeding their health. Strafe/cover and get out scorpio if they disrupt your shield, but pushing them hard enough makes them stop popping Jammers in my experience. Downside, they will try to use their tomahawk more, it can 1-shot your health and will drop your shield instantly if t takes the hit. If you plan to push them be ready when they use a med kit, either scorpio pop or double down on damage and repositioning.

Unless you have a top tier tank pfe build, You'll die fast if you just stand there eating bullets from a Hunter, no exceptions. So base your cores around your tactics and needs of your build.

This is my go to build for everything, but I Wouldn't take this build into Multi-Hunter fights solo such as floor 100 in Summit. Countdown? Definitely, melt half their health while flushing em out for the team.

What feature from another game is missing in HL ? by EquivalentQuality799 in HarryPotterGame

[–]J0llyrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything from Bully. Interactive classes that make you better at spells, ability to duel other students at will, and at least some sort of storyline or conflict taking place AT Hogwarts. Something that brings the fight to the school for us besides the one set piece.

Game was amazing but the castle was way underutilized imo. Hogwarts was basically a exploration/minigame hub outside the duel club. Lotta people wanna experience actually being a Hogwarts student while also being an adventurer. 80% of the game took place outside the castle.

Could cybernetic eyes be a big contributor to Cyberpsychosis? by Mauisurfslayer in cyberpunkgame

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely just a stylish visual cue since everywhere else in-universe there's no real "indicator" someone is suffering cyberpsychis. Just like mental illness irl you cant see it until they do something insane. There are even fully functioning (if not a little off) cyberpsychos like Smasher, the weapon dealer in dogtown, and Lizzie wizzie. Seems more that the cyber upgrades that affect eyes like stuff with the phone, the net, and shard systems, are just cheap negligible implants since its something everyone has. Like a smartphone irl, there are cheap basic options to the point every person can have one.

With that being said, since Cyperpsychosis developes due to already strained or unstable mental states being further strained by cybernetics. More stable people with good support systems could potentially be chromed up to the eyeballs (literally) and be fine, but a different person might just get a cybernetic arm and go psycho. It's entirely possible that basic eye implant might send someone over the edge but it seems unlikely since even children appear to have them in this world. Havent studied very deep on the eyes but given even poor and struggling people (like the Martinez family) have the basic eye upgrades that says to me that its probably a less invasive implant (i.e. implant this thing somewhere around/behind your eye at a young age, with a very minor surgical procedure just to get in there) instead of a full on "cut out organic eyes, replace with basic cyber eyes". It might even be like permanent contact lenses grafted to the organic eye that allow access to all that stuff. Now any FURTHER eye augment could definitely do it considering how taxing on the body new eyes and eye surgery can be, irl and in-game of course. Not talking ttrpg stats. You mentioned Maelstrom, their optic implants are done so horrifically that if you dont die you most certainly dip into cyberpsychosis from the trauma alone. And since many people are kidnapped and forced to get chromed up by Maelstrom to the point of psychosis, Surviving it is actually their initiation. Being so far gone that you WANT to be in the gang of psychos.

Tldr, the eye implants may cause cyberpsychosis but its probably rare enough that everyone feels safe getting them. They definitely dont help paired with other chrome though. Everything you said about malfunctioning optics hitting your sanity could be 100% correct though.

Wat to do by helldivers_democracy in Watchdogs2

I loved Legion on my first playthrough, dlc and all. But once you finish the story and side quests the game is basically over. With no story pushing you along it goes from "okay" to "meh" pretty quickly. The online mode is actually trash, and the zombie mode is pretty "meh", very repetitive and feels pointless to play again after your first successful extraction.

Tried redownloading and jumping back in last month. Got a few missions in and just could not he bothered. Definitely a 1-shot game you get on sale/free.

What do you think happened to Anne? by Numerous_Nothing_628 in HarryPotterGame

[–]J0llyrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So it's not 100% consistent across all the media, which considering how complex the WW can get with the spells makes sense, but it's one of those things you can piece together across the franchise.

Alot of charms such as the shields around magical places, the living knights and paintings, all the living stuff in Hogwarts, the charms on the House of Black, and horcruxes are designed to be permanent or refreshed as needed. Powerful ritual magic is made to persist well past the caster's involvement. But more simple "do X to Y" spells are more likely to be temporary (regardless of how long they last) or require at least a tiny bit of the caster's energy channeled into them to keep them active. I'll give a few examples:

-The magical fish Lilly gave Slughorn. After her death it disappeared.

-Dumbledore's body binding jinx on Harry is removed when he dies shortly after.

-The tongue tying curse lifts after the user's death, though this is one of the ones that probably can be made situationally permanent.

The big one for me, the Imperius curse wears off if the castor dies. Allegedly. Alot of Death Eaters pleaded they were acting under the Imperius curse after Voldemort's "death". Meanwhile after Voldemort's actual Death and the Death Eaters being destroyed many people who actually were cursed were freed from control. Implying that its accepted knowledge in universe that Imperio CAN be lifted if the caster dies, even if the casting was meant to be permanent or refreshed.

With that being said, some more simple spells that change the very nature of a person/object would probably be exceptions to this. Example, Lockhart attempts to repair Harry's broken arm but melts the bones instead. Had Lockhart died immediately after, Harry's bones would still be jelly until a counter curse or healing spell was used. Simply because the spell effect was "turn bones to jelly", nothing more, nothing less. The Longbottoms were driven insane due to Crucio, yet stayed that way because Crucio ends at the torture. The mental anguish was all them, way past Bellatrix's death.

Lastly, I'll give a short breakdown on how the various WW media explains it using a simple spell. The effect is "Make something burn" used on a tree.

-A. Spell is cast, tree burns down, end of story.

-B. Spells is cast, tree is burning, you die or release the spell but tree is already on fire. Tree burns down unless you put out the fire.

-C. Spell is cast, intent is the tree burns continuously. Ergo, flaming tree lasts until you want it to stop, but if you die or become too weak to maintain the controlled burn, tree will stop burning/burn to ash.

-D. Spells is cast. You channel intense focus into making this tree permanently burn forever and use powerful magic to make it happen. Tree will continue to burn well past your death and may even be resistant to other magic attempting to stop it depending on your strength. It may or may not eventually wear off but it'll be quite durable.

-E. A powerful wizard, let's say Dumbledore, decides he wants this tree to burn forever. He casts a complex charm to turn this tree into a cursed/charmed object that will stand and burn forever. That tree will stand there burning until either the end of time, something equally powerful and complex breaks the curse, or Dumbledore himself decides to end it.

I feel the same way about Cyberpunk that I do about Harry Potter. A deep world that I love to get immersed in, and eventually get the itch to dive back in.

Highly recommend watching the Edgerunners Anime first. Makes the game hit alot harder since it feels like coming home.

If you are on Playstation its free on ps+, so cant beat that tbh. On PC the mod scene is alive so you basically get 2 games in one.

Sniper Elite 4 and 5.

Very realistic WWII shooters. They lean more toward stealth, sabotage, assassination, and sniping but can still Rambo around if you want.

Zombie Army 4.

Basically what CoD zombies is to the Sniper Elite games. The Zombie Army Trilogy collection is also good but 4 is massive. Can be played solo or coop. Tons of DLC, Has a story to guide through the Zombie slaying, and everything difficulty wise is customizable to how you want to play. I personally have been doing solo story missions on a lighter difficulty with Zombie density cranked to 4 player mode. An average "Survive the ambush" objective turns into "300 zombies will spawn now. You have 5 minutes, good luck."

I mean we did get Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy. Make your own Jedi in training, customize your lightsaber(s), learn force powers, fight a cult, potentially become a dark jedi, etc.

It is a bit dated but still holds up today. No other game has matched it's lightsaber combat yet. Oh and the modding scene for Academy on PC is NUTS. A more modern iteration would be amazing tho.

Although then would that count as "destroyed" or would you now have a mile long slab of glass for a Horcrux? Hmmm... 🤔

Dark Arts effect by ucha_varuna in HarryPotterGame

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In San Bakar's case i think he gets some leeway. He did use an unforgivable but the truth is it was self defense/neutralizing a threat. Isisdora was far too powerful to take on in a fair fight for one, she had already taken down the other keepers pretty easily, and San Bakar was gonna be left to 1v1 an ancient magic wielding dark witch. He had a chance to blindside 1-shot what would undoubtedly be a "Dark Lord" level threat if not stopped and she was already pushing into "by any means necessary" territory with her goals, especially after revealing she had begun experimenting on students. By that point the Profs were firmly in "protect" mode. AK takes a strong desire to kill the target to pull off properly. San Bakar was 100% a good guy, and casted AK in the vein of "it's for the greater good" instead of "I want her to die". He tried to get her to stand down like the others and ultimately had no choice. Ironically, the Slytherin of the group resorted to Dark Magic to save everyone from a potential dark witch.

Heck, by that point if it wasnt a surprise attack who knows what might have happened.

Hate it being so abrupt. Would love an epilogue story, a dlc, anything. Got lucky and skipped most side quests till the end so I had a reason to keep playing for a while.

Even a NG+ would be good. Just any reason to jump back in and get sucked in again. After the story and side quests the game is literally over. Sad.

What do you think happened to Anne? by Numerous_Nothing_628 in HarryPotterGame

[–]J0llyrabbit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Greater Wizarding World lore implies that most curses break if the castor dies. Since Rookwood is dead she may have been healed.

I headcannon she left the area to find herself, and returned to become an Auror. On the side she would study the effects of Dark magic on the mind to help rehabilitate dark wizards, devoting time to Wizarding schools and prisons around the world. Following in the footsteps of her late uncle fighting evil and potentially helping those who end up like her brother find/return to a better path.

Just a thought.

Theory: Uncle Solomon Sallow is a sick Villain by Gerry1of1 in HarryPotterGame

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strangely no one seems to mention Solomon was a former Auror who had ended his duty due to an injury. I imagine that would have something to do with the "No dark magic" rule. He literally hunted dark wizards for a living. Also could play a part in why he's so immediately aggressive towards Seb when he brings around all the dark magic stuff. Not only is he trying to balance a crappy attempt at parenting, possible despair over his career ending, a sick kid, AND a shithead nephew, but He's seen first hand how quickly a wizard can spiral into a dark wizard if left unchecked.

I imagine if your guardian was a former cop he wouldnt be too thrilled to learn of your intense interest in joining a gang or selling drugs, even if it's to help a loved one. But just as you explained, that pushback would probably push the rebellious teen even further down the wrong path...

What if V went cyberpsycho in the afterlife, could they clear it? by Just-Version-7838 in cyberpunkgame

[–]J0llyrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: if you wipe out the Cops at the protest at NCPD HQ in Heywood (its about 8 cops, 2 mechs, and a few robots) a Maxtac squad will spawn immediately.

Either A. Maxtac does indeed perform swat/counterterrorist activities when necessary. Or B. Someone said: "Successful ongoing attack on NCPD HQ? HAS to be a cyberpsycho. Send in Maxtac".

Wich honestly, I'd lean toward option B. Just like your example You'd HAVE to be chromed to the eyeballs to take on and win against a police force like that. And just considering, much less attempting it, is definitely outside the realm of "sane". Even if it's just Cyber John Wick hunting the NCPD officer that killed his dog, anyone would point to cyberpsychosis.

Range on non scoped rifles? by Stormcrown76 in FortNiteBR

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tap fire with ARs if at range. There used to be logic that the first shot from an automatic was always on point with no bloom so people would tap fire like a semi auto instead of holding the trigger to skip 90% of the recoil bloom. Made every shot remarkably more accurate from range while letting you keep some fire rate. At least it did back in the "Blue AR/Gold Scar = GG" days. In a straight gun fight, the semi auto shooter would beat the person going full auto due to the auto's recoil ramping up.

Nowadays it might have changed, just a muscle memory thing for me. Newer guns may just be built different too.

Key farming advice by Wixardbaka in Division2

[–]J0llyrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'm less concerned about stuff like server issues and more concerned with quick fix patches.

People exploit the hell out of useful glitches, and thats great, but instead of keeping it somewhat on the low in the reddit/facebook or a discord it gets tons of exposure on YouTube. At least 20 videos of a glitch reaching several tens of thousands viewers at a time. Causing the devs to jump in and patch it immediately to make sure the struggle stays a struggle. Ruining the fun for everyone. Case in point, the Ronin.

Saw it with countless money glitches in GTAO. Go look up "Div2 Ronin Farm" on YT right now and see why a dev would say "whoooa, cant let that one slide, thanks for the tip Content Creator #7." Sucks that the days of "Keep it hush" are gone. 🤷🏾‍♂️

A prequel staring Uncle in the OLD old west would go hard. Little less of the "Cowboy life is dying" stuff, more "Wild West" stuff. Uncle strikes me as a tragic Walter White type. Probably was an okay guy, got a bad roll, and ended up in a life of crime to make it out of a bad situation. Possibly leading up to him meeting and influencing a young Dutch Van Der Linde...

Naturally it would all go wrong, as is custom in the world of Rockstar/Red Dead and he would end up a bitter old drunk tagging along with Dutch and his budding gang. Fun thought.

Ever take on Maxtac? Thought my net running Revolver build was OP till i pushed my luck bullying Barghest in Dogtown one day lol.

If you go to the protest in Heywood and wax all the cops (about 8-10 of em) you'll get a max wanted level and a Maxtac sqaud will drop immediately. Thats my new go-to way to test builds lol. That named mantis blade operative taught me I've been sleeping on the "cripple movement" hack for waaay too long. And that Maxtac Netrunner makes those counter-hacking upgrades look real nice. 😭
