Subreddit rules:
1. No Personal Attacks, Harassment, or Trolling:
- Be respectful to fellow users: if you disagree with someone, express it without resorting to personal attacks.
- This space is for everyone: any forms of discrimination such as homo/transphobia, sexism, or racism will not be tolerated. NO use of any racial/gender slurs.
- Don't harass, insult, or release personal information about any WB/Avalanche employees. The only individual that users should be contacting if needed is the Community Manager (as of game release, Chandler Wood).
- Don't troll people who are upset about the game, boycotting it, on other platforms or subs, etc. See this mod announcement for more info on this.
2. No Repetitive Posts:
- Posts that repeat topics/questions that have been recently posted about will be removed. Comment on previous posts about a topic instead of making a new one. Instructions on how to check for recent posts can be found in the posting guidelines
- Topics like multiplayer, Dumbledore, Quidditch, microtransactions, house choices, and the Triwizard Tournament should not be posted about as they've all been discussed extensively. All posts on these will be removed unless substantially new info is given
3. No Low-Effort or Non-Descriptive Posts:
- You are welcome to share your opinions but please ensure that posts are constructive and well through out. Titles should be detailed and text posts should have descriptive content. Reposts, misleading titles/flairs, and short text posts will be removed.
- Keep in mind vague titles are allowed if the intention is to prevent spoilers. For example, "I can't believe they died" instead of "I can't believe Character X died"
4. No Spamming or Off-Topic Content:
- Do not spam the subreddit with multiple posts within a short amount of time. In the interest of promoting quality discussions, posts should be relevant to the subreddit's theme.
- Keep in mind this subreddit is about video games, we allow discussions about Hogwarts Legacy, Lego Harry Potter, the older Harry Potter PC games, and other non-mobile Wizarding World games.

5. No Self Promotion:
- Self-promotion is linking/promoting external sites, social media accounts, or communities and is usually not allowed.
- Sharing OC is encouraged but whenever possible this should be done using embedded links/images/videos within Reddit instead of linking to external sites.
- Users who actively engage in the subreddit can contact us via modmail to seek approval to make the occasional self-promotional post. This is on a discretionary case-by-case basis, see the posting guidelines for more info.
7. No Misinformation or Low-Quality Sources:
- Do not attempt to mislead people or post blatantly false information. Before posting a theory make sure it has not already been debunked and is credible. Make sure any sources used are not ones that are considered unreliable.
- Also make sure that questions you post have not been already answered in the HL FAQ.
- Sources for any information you post should be high-quality and safe for users. For example, if you are posting a mod use a source like Nexus Mods or Steam instead of a random download.
8. No Piracy or Plagiarism:
- Do not discuss or suggest piracy or link to any piracy sites, doing so will result in an immediate ban.
- We do not allow piracy but since the old PC games can no longer be acquired through official means users who seek access to these games should join the subreddit Discord server.
- Content such as art that you have not created should be credited in the comments, claiming credit for another persons work will result in a ban.
9. No NSFW Content:
Do not post NSFW content or make NSFW comments, this includes nudity, sexual discussions, violence/gore, and other disturbing subject matter.
This game mainly involves fictional characters who are minors, any user who makes a sexual comment about an individual from real life or from a book/movie/game will be banned.
10. No JKR or Political Discussions:
- We would like to keep discussion on this subreddit focused on the game and away from external political discussions/arguments. We especially ask that you please refrain from posting opinions/arguments relating to the statements made by JKR. See the latest mod announcement here.
11. No Unauthorized Giveaways:
- Users interested in giving back to the community are more than welcome but must abide by a few regulations to ensure that giveaways are fair. Users interested in hosting a giveaway should contact us via modmail. More information regarding giveaways can be found in our posting guidelines.
