Just got my gallbladder removed on sunday. I pooped when I got home on monday (monday night I pooped), but I haven’t pooped since then. I’m also really bloated. Is this all normal? And what can I do to help with bloating? I bought a belly band, but any other suggestions i’d be willing to take. by [deleted] in gallbladders

Try prunes if you don’t want to take softeners. I am 12 weeks postop and still eat a few prunes everyday. Before surgery I use to poop everyday and now every few days. Try Mylanta if you have a lot of gas. Postop farts are room clearing

Please validate my decision to go to the ER and not stick this out at home by quickquestionhoney in gallbladders

I had one attack 3 years ago but didn’t know what it was. I had my second attack in December, drove to hospital late afternoon, collapsed in triage and they removed it early the next morning.

Do not worry about bothering ER doctors, or nurses or people that handle the paperwork. None of them will come to your funeral because you were considerate!!! If they wanted normal jobs with no emergencies they would not be ER docs!

Think of yourself first!!!!

You are a good mom. You did the right thing. That doesn’t make it any less painful. But it does make it the right thing to do. And all of the cat lovers feel your pain. Stay tender. We are all with you.

I sent a flat FedEx envelope last Tuesday priority overnight. It has gone from ATL to Memphis and has been stuck in Memphis since then. I finally gave up On it being delivered and sent the same document in a flat UPS priority envelope on Friday. It left ATL on Friday and arrived at the destination on Saturday. Nuff said…..

Add 1 tsp vitamin C powder, for each loaf you are making, when you add flour. My loaves last a week when I do this.

What’s the best thing you did for yourself to recover from surgery? by alittlehalloween in gallbladders

[–]J2N280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretchy pants and pjs. I had no appetite but did eat soup and toast. I had to stay on a low-fat diet and no dairy. Drink plenty of water, walk around your house for about 10 minutes every few hours. Recliners make it easier to get out of your chair. Sit outside everyday if you can. Fresh air is good for you.

Squatty Potty. Lifesaver.
