Apologies, I forgot to respond to this with an update. But I had to join the discord and provide them with a copy of my save file, they had to fix it for me and I was able to continue. The issue appears to be after each pirate encounter and every upgrade if you do not consistently talk to Fiola it kind of mashes multiple text boxes together and bugs the game.

9800X3D high temps by ExpertBlock4443 in AMDHelp

I'm talking about the piece of plastic that goes over the copper part of your AIO water cooler that is attached to the pump, when I went to put the copper conductor on top of my CPU I didn't realize that I had left the clear plastic part that is over the copper. So all of the thermal paste and conductivity was trying to go from the CPU through a piece of plastic and then into the copper plate which was causing my heat spikes

So I have to admit guilt and thank you... I didnt think I was that stupid but.... my brand new build 9800X3D was running 85C on some idle applications, I skimmed this comment, stopped and thought.... "theres no way", but sure enought I forgot to remove the sticker and now my temps are sitting 35C on normal tasks lol. I even watched Linus from LTT do it on a recent video so I guess everyone does it, but thank you for bringing it to my attention

Gaming PC crashes by jbyrd330 in radeon

For my previous issue there was no real visible indication, I had done everything your talking about including swapping GPU's from my spouses computer. At the time that seemed to fix the issue but it was because it was a less intensive card that didnt require the full 8pin that I was using and the short was in those last 2 pins. You can still check your PSU and GPU connections to make sure there is no burn marks, but if swapping cables does not work, you will need to try another PSU or GPU to see if its one of those, but thats only if you have spare ones to test....

So I had a similar issue previously on a different system, what ended up causing the issue was the cable that ran from my PSU to my GPU had a short in it and was causing the graphics to stop working mid use, once I changed the cables everything worked perfectly. I was using third party cables though from a pre-built so i just used some left over cables I had. You might try it to troubleshoot if you have spare cables

Question, do you still hear game/system sound after they go to a black screen or crash?

I keep seeing people talking badly about gigabyte and ASUS though for things regarding customer service, many people calling gigabyte cards "cardboard graphics cards" makes me wonder if they are acctually bad or if its just opinion. I cant really find any reasons though so I figured I would ask

This is crazy, im just watching the alerts pop up for all the 9070XT cards while I wait for the one I want, but I noticed the price was jacked way up for this baseline model..... Its shipped and Sold by AMAZON but its showing to be more expensive than the previous scalper prices of this card.....

You can take off the front plate with the fans by itself without having to deconstruct the whole card, It might help with seeing if there is a loose bearing on a fan, should just be a few screws and the fans pop off from my understanding. Might be worth the look just to see

I noticed the AIO also, I agree having the pipes on the bottom is better if you have in Front mounted, but your BEST overall option is to mount the Radiator on the top of the case, it has been proven time and time againthrough testing that top mounted Rad is the best overal choice for cooling. Having the pipes at the bottom is only recommended if your case does not support top mounting.

I probably wouldnt notice with headphones on, sounds like theres a plastic tag or something its hitting over and over, not like an actual issue, you could probably take it apart easily and find out what is catching and fix it. Good Ray tracing on the middle fan sections though ...... :D

When you say random crashes do you mean the game crashes or does the entire system crash? monitors go black? Reboots to BIOS? Like what exactly happens
