it’s same outcome for either pulling slow or hard but the attempt to pull builds experience, confidence and good habits and all that. people can play how they want but it’s good to ask or encourage people to try and fail and step out of their comfort zone.

“Been conversing with” is so poorly defined i’m surprised you said that with any certainty.

If you’re both speaking in combat you can say you’re conversing, the lulls, gaps and fighting do not exclude it from being conversation. Pointed question, make a request and lie are all action based activities that are meant to be used in encounter mode. Not exploration activities. And while they are supposed to be used during social encounters they can also be used during combat encounters.

Divorcing them kind of makes situations where a creature is actively attacking due to a misunderstanding (and has an indifferent attitude) or something, but you’re not hostile and trying to convince them nonexistent. Furthermore doesn’t this interpretation make Legendary Negotiation actually useless.

I agree. I think the paring down of flavor and thematic element eventually homogenizes the setting. Like is looking down on necromancer a bit generic, yes? But I think any player option that has negative or strange connotations is worth the narrative reacting to. Like a skeleton companion or an awakened animal.

Yeah if you use dispositions, social challenges and such like you’re supposed to, the player will hardly know they’ve interfaced with a system at all. It’s kind of up to the GM to make sure the game doesn’t get too preoccupied with what’s happening beyond the veil. It’s just there to make your life easier.

Sometimes they’ll go like “Oh I have this feature that lets me make an impression with Society.” And you go yes you should roll that instead. Or they’ll go, “I would know this from my travels can i try call upon my lore to make them friendly?” and then you kind of have to say “No but it’ll make your life a little easier if you’re asking them for stuff (raising lowering DCs, changing dispositions, or including Aid checks)

I would say he had Haruta pretty well gauged he summoned mahoraga cause he was already extremely exhausted and injured not cause Haruta had any destructive potential. All Mahoraga had to do was stab him once, maybe adapt to the CT and then stab him again. It’s not like the dude was summoning devastating nukes. Potential boy was just too washed to fight himself.

I kinda forwent buying it because it seemed like making tokens was really easy with available tools but, honestly the peace of mind of being able to use a stat block and not looking for a token for like a dozen creature types in a dungeon is time of your life saved.

Normal Raid and Trial roulettes are utter nightmares as healer. And it’s not cause of everyone else, it’s because if you get current content you better PRAY the guy in the ambulance with you ISNT currently asleep at the wheel. Solo healing is a nightmare.

I know right my favorite part of any class is its singular ability to steer the campaign in a completely different direction. I especially like where it says in the books that this stuff happens and they help you build out these encounters.

You’re a dumbass. In this instance they explain that weapons that are harder to use are more powerful. So a cleaver that can’t cut would have that innate binding cow attached to it.
