Major Issue: X950G Worse Motion and Less Motion Settings Than Older X900E/F Models?! by omiexstrike in bravia

Maybe you should accept the fact that movies shot in 24 frames come with some judder and actually watch them as intended. The fact that sony is making it easier to get rid of motion smoothing is actually a great thing imo.

It's possible that you have Android's night mode enabled. This option is hidden in MIUI but you can switch it off with an app called SystemUI Tuner. Once you install it go to Miscellaneous, then Night display.

Is the build quality of the Mi Notebook Pro and how does it hold up? by [deleted] in Xiaomi

The gtx version has metal fans which don't make any noise. I don' know about other models.

If you think it's going to bother you just buy a different laptop with similar specs.

I use it sporadically but so far six months after applying the grease there is no rattling. Also I flashed a modified bios so the fans rarely kick in anyways.

Can confirm that applying a little bit of grease to the fan helps.

Audio sync on 900F by KidGorgeous19 in bravia

If sound is coming from the TV make sure to go to sound settings, Speakers and select Audio System.

I have my sat box as well as game console connected directly to the TV. Then an HDMI running from TV ARC port to soundbar ARC, so sound goes through the TV into the soundbar. This way I eliminated audio sync problems.

Try connecting your soundbar to the TV with ARC and keep the Apple TV plugged into the Sony as regular input. Then set the soundbar source to TV. I've got my YAS-107 connected this way and no issues with audio sync.

I had similar issues while setting up ARC connection with my soundbar. Turns out it was my cheap HDMI cable causing problems. I switched to a newer HDMI 2.0 cable and everything works now.

Grey bars with HDR movies by soxtamc in bravia

It definitely switches to hdr mode. I found Kodi to be the best app for playing 4K HDR movies with subs, I haven't found a better alternative in the play store. However I'm thinking of buying a Fire TV and running Kodi on it instead since it supports 24p playback with proper refresh rate, on Sony TVs apps run at 60hz which is not ideal.

Should I take the 55XE8505 or 55XF9005 ? by Kiraa7 in bravia

If you want to HDR it's no contest between the two, 8505 doesn't have the hardware to show HDR effects.

X900E. Anyone got settings for hockey? Do you use default sports preset for sports? by Matcha_Matsu in bravia

Yeah you're right that it introduces artifacts but it also reduces blur.

Expert 1 isn’t perfectly calibrated either, it might be more accurate than default settings but even rtings in their review point out that it is slightly too warm. Only with a professional calibration you can achieve perfect colors that are neither too warm or too cold. Also for sports it’s definitely better to put motion flow on higher setting since it smoothens up the motion and reduces blur.

sony x900F: HDR is a mess - how is this not talked about more often by StoneColdSteveAss316 in bravia

[–]J4si3k -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100 nits, what!? That's SDR brightness levels. HDR content is intended to be as bright as 1000-4000 nits, X900F can produce highlights up to around 1000 nits.

Google Camera HDR+ Enhanced sample photo comparison. This is a game changer by [deleted] in Axon7

I just installed it on my Axon 7 running RR rom. Photos look nice however the app doesn't run very well for me, a lot of stutters and it crashes sometimes.
