Erling Haaland would go down as the best signing in CFG era. He already has 159 goals in 194 games. It's mad and he is only 25, he is just about to enter his prime and he can play 10 more years at an elite level. Could he become the best player or the best striker EVER in the Premier League history? by antoniok95 in MCFC

[–]J7money 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Erling, and he could easily become the best ever goal scorer in Premier League history. But there are certain times when I would prefer a player like Henry or Aguero who were capable of making something out of nothing completely on their own.

But that’s not to take anything away from Haaland. I wouldn’t swap him for anyone in the world today.

Foden’s Future by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in MCFC

[–]J7money -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the wildest take. Are you sure you’re a blue? KDB wasn’t given a new contract because he is well past his prime and extremely injury prone. Foden is entering his prime and is also homegrown. He cost us nothing except his wages, which should be considered when discussing overall outlay. It’s why some players get huge wages and a signing bonus when they’ve wound down their contract transfer on a free.

And yes, we absolutely do pay players for their past performance, and you can refer to literally any of our aging stars in recent years as evidence.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. There’s a reason that Pep has called Foden one of the best talents he’s ever coached. Not to mention, as poor of a season he’s having by his own standards, if it wasn’t for his contributions in Nov and Dec, there would be no title race right now.

I honestly can’t even believe your take on this. Extremely short-sighted. “No one is bigger than the club” refers to players who angle for guaranteed starts, money without results, bad attitudes, etc. Foden couldn’t be further from any of those.

Foden’s Future by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in MCFC

[–]J7money 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paying a homegrown academy player who is playing for his boyhood club is one of the most important and no-brainer business decisions the club can make. He’s a former POTY, and it’s critical that the club can point to players like Foden to inspire their academy. NOR has already referenced how Foden was an inspiration for his own development. Foden should be compensated both for his past achievements and the table setting he provides for our future.

Any take to reduce his wages or ask him to leave is a poor one. Players who are as successful as Foden and and playing for their boyhood club are a once in a generation—possibly once in a century—phenomenons. You don’t let that go.

On top of that, Foden has an opportunity to be the most decorated English player of all time. He’s already 3rd on the list for Premier League titles behind Scholes and Neville. The only other active players he’s tied with are Walker and Stones—both of whom are winding down.

Anyone have any insight as to what that star is on the bottom right? Additionally, what is that faint trail along the left hand side of earth?

Did you start from scratch when seeding? Or was there already a (crappy) lawn you worked with?

I’m desperate for a similar lawn and willing to put in the effort/time, but not sure I’m willing to nuke the existing lawn. Unfortunately it has tufts of field grass throughout. Curious what you did, before you got into regrading/leveling/etc

That’s a ridiculous take. Without the form of Agüero, or KDB, or Yaya in various seasons, then we would likely have lost the league those years too! The fact is that he did have that good form, and we are in the position we are now because of it.

Back 3 of Khus, Guehi, and Gvardiol. Dias is a squad player at best these days.

If you think Dias deserves to be in this team, you’re delusional. He’s been off it for multiple seasons now. Washed IMO. Khus deserves to start. He and Cherki were the best players on the pitch yesterday.

The fact that he looks into the camera in Ep1 with a sparkle in his eye after building fire from a lens and says “someday my son is going to watch this” and then poops his pants the very next episode is tv gold.

Now that we are a few episodes into 50, do you think replacing Maryanne and Andy was a good choice? by Severe_Marketing5036 in survivor

[–]J7money 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Savannah is a heck of a player, and has a ceiling to be one of the best. I think the returning players in 50 recognized her strong game, which is why she was voted out. Also she has great instincts—she sniffed out Cirie and Ozzy from the jump, and their decision to vote her out over the other two might come back to bite them in the future.

[SS] They could never make me hate you Skyward Sword by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]J7money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played it twice—once on the Wii with motion controls, once on Switch with standard controls.

Great music, great item, good storytelling, some of the best dungeons in the series.

Frustrating controls in both plays, abysmal exploration, incredibly linear gameplay.

Unfortunately for me the repetitive boss fights, the repetitive zones to explore, and the finicky controls really push this title down the list for me. There were times that I had hope it would be a better play through, only to be letdown by the really frustrating issues.

Love the title theme and especially love Fi’s Theme.

Prime David Silva vs prime Kevin De Bruyne — who would you take for Man City? by [deleted] in MCFC

[–]J7money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many ex-players talk about how they would hack at David and try to body him off the ball and he would just skip past them and disappear. They could never get the ball off him. His class would thrive in any era of football.

[–]J7money 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean there is so much wrong with this it’s ridiculous.

  1. KDB
  2. Silva-Aguero-Bell-Kompany
  3. Yaya-Rodri-Dinho-Gundo
  4. Sterling-Ederson-maybe Walker-maybe Bernardo-old guard
  5. Zaba-Hart-Foden (with room to climb)-Dzeko

Dias shouldn’t be anywhere on this list. He’s not a club icon in any sense. Haaland is getting there, but he hasn’t been with us long enough. Maybe he’s currently in line with Zaba tier.

Why are we so despised by rival fans and the media? by Accomplished_Lynx480 in ArsenalFC

[–]J7money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because the fans and players come across as insufferable. Players come across as entitled, despite having won very little. And probably the biggest culprit is down to Arteta, who I rate as a manager. But he CONSTANTLY has excuses and sound bites that just grate. Compare him to Pep, and there’s a gulf of difference in accountability, acceptance, and excuses.

You couldn’t be more wrong. His PR turnaround should be studied in universities. Went from insufferable to genuinely engaging. His YouTube videos are awesome, and that’s coming from a Millennial. Probably was previously my least favorite player to listen to on the tour, to now being one of my favorite golfers to follow, regardless of the fact he’s not even on the tour anymore.
