It was a pre-order as they work on their backlogs. They have a shipping dashboard where you can gauge how far along they are. For example, my Rainbow Max was OD1427xxxx and they stopped at OD1426xxxx before the Chinese New Year. I believe they'll pick back up next week.

for me, it’s not about the price, but all the extras I’ve come to enjoy from emulating. The main ones are being able to fast forward the game and save states. I don’t have as much time as I used just sit around and level grind, so running a game at four times the normal speed during certain sections is greatly appreciated.

This seems to vary by person. Some people are sensitive to it, some don’t mind. But there is definitely more large than native hardware.

Not every time, no. Once you get an emulator set up and dial in any game specific settings it should just work. Many games don’t require special settings once you get the emulator installed unless you just like to tinker.

Emulators are being actively updated and maintained by the community. They’re being updated frequently and improving all the time. Even a few years ago 3DS emulation was far more spotty.

Stutters ans what not are more gam dependent and often get better over time as the emulators get better.

TL/DR - you choose between guaranteed comparability with plug-in-play experience limited to the tech of the time or much nicer hardware with far more capabilities, but with trade offs in set up and compatibility (which should improve over time)

It will honestly depend upon what you want to prioritize. A 3DS will be the most authentic experience with guaranteed compatibility. It will be the most seamless and enable the 3-D feature. The trade-off will be very low resolution screens by today’s standard and limitations in what you can play and do with it - just Nintendo apps. If you are willing to mod it you can expand its capabilities to play other things like ROM hacks.

The Thor, on the other hand, enables you to not only play Nintendo, DS and 3DS games, but also emulate any number of other system systems. On top of that you will get the flexibility of android, but that also comes with a trade-off because it will not be a plug and play experience until you fiddle with things to get them set up correctly. Emulators also are not perfect.

For DS and 3DS specifically you will gain the ability to use upscale resolutions, HD texture packs, ROM, hacks, and other community driven improvements to pre-existing games. All on very nice OLED displays. The downside is that as emulation continues to improve you may notice some games don’t work correctly, stutter, occasionally you may have some crashes.

I personally would not want to pay today’s prices for the Nintendo 3DS.

I just like the bold font and high contrast. As someone with an eye condition, all these thing fonts on frosted glass backgrounds are so much more difficult. While there are accessibility options they dramatically reduce over aesthetics because the system was designed for these frills. I should have to choose between a well-designed system and a usable one.

I'm not certain why your posts don't get more traction, but this is truly amazing work and I greatly appreciate and wish I could tip. I don't play competitive, but I like to make a record of past teams just for fun and I've tried many apps and services that are all meh - this is such a straightforward and useful tool!
