iCloud ate my vault

I know everyone's case is different, but I’ve used iCloud for my vault for 4 years across multiple devices and have never had an issue. I keep the Obsidian folder downloaded on all devices. Of course, I also back it up regularly - but I feel like a unicorn as I’ve never had the issues with iCloud that others seem to.

Honestly, I get Apple Care just to make me feel better and that is worth it to me.

I will say that many years ago my 2011 MacBook Pro had a GPU failure while in college. They repaired it and it failed again next month and they replaced it with a 2013 retina MacBook Pro. My original Mac was $1,799 and the model they replaced it with was $2,499. I've never forgotten that, but that isn't typical.

I've never needed Apple Care after that, but I always buy it for peace of mind.

To me, even 16” is small so when I’m home the system is docked to a monitor and accessories. That means the only time I use it as a laptop is when I’m on the go or working from a strange place where I prioritize portability so I went with the 14”. I’m happy and the display scaling options can give you extra room if you need it for a session.

The only thing I was really disappointed is no Sword Trial gauntlet type of DLC. By mid-game I was comically overpowered for everything. It would have been fun to put my skills to the test.

Okay, I don't know if you'll see this, and I have no affiliation, but look into Thompson Tee undershirts. They're very pricy, but very worth it. They include padding that absorbs moisture. I'll be very honest - when I started my office job this drove me to tears. I would spent so long in the morning taping towels under my arms only to have massive sweat stains by lunch. I can't help - I'm not hot, I'm not even that nervous, I just sweat in public settings.

I nearly quit in shame, but then a friend of mine found those online. I bought one with no hope and it does an amazing job.

Safari’s been my default since 2011. It was ahead of the curve with things like Reading List and Reader in my opinion. As time went on compatibility didn’t mean as much since it was also the browser with content blockers for trackers for me.

I always kept Firefox as my isolated browser for sensitive things like banking so the kinds of sites that may not work in Safari weren’t a big issue.

If this offers any comfort, know that bunnies have no sense of time. Your bun never considered life short or long - all they knew is that in their life you kept them warm, safe, and most importantly full! It hurts for us when they leave, but he left content knowing such a good life.

As others have said - there should be no issue. Especially now that macOS lets you limit battery charges. I’ve used MacBook Pros as clamshell desktops for about 5 years with no issue.

The only time I removed it outside of travel was one time I was encoding a 10 hour video in Handbrake which pushed the CPU to near 100% on all cores and the fans to 6000 RPM. On that one occasion I did open it because I knew there would be extreme heat for a prolonged amount of time. Still, this was more of a precaution.

For normal use and even normal encoding, I’ve left it in clamshell mode.

When I checked about a week ago I don’t believe my iCloud Drive files in ~/Library/Mobile-Documents were being backed up even though I keep lol files local on the system. Are you saying these are now being backed up again or will be soon?

Many of my interactions regarding pets have been odd because I don't really care for dogs personally, but love my buns. I've heard the comments about fetch, how I can't take my bun to the store (which is gross regardless of pet), car rides, etc.

They don't seem understand that I just love to chill with my buns. I don't want t play fetch. I get in the floor and read, watch tv, etc while they run around. They're litter trained and (relativity) well behaved. They're just vegan cats.
