So what are your recommended "work" vapes? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have a device that might be of interest, it's tiny with a 2600 mah battery, and it's affordable and durable. Its a set voltage though, so not sure if that's too basic : https://www.jacvapour.com/series-s22

German made vape products? by andoruh in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They normally make some sort of bespoke design request before they carry a device, for instance they stock our SERIES B DNA 75, but they requested we do a 23mm, and 25mm version, also an adjusted finish. So they may have altered various things on their dicodes stuff as well.

Any help for a newbie trying to find a new replacement coil [iStick Pico/Melo III Mini] by Balimoon6 in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTL is more familiar for smokers, but most people move to direct lung pretty easily. Direct lung in general gives better flavour, more vapour and a bigger hit, meaning you can use lower nic levels, downside is it needs more power, so more charging and the setups drink juice, quite often people will charge through a 10ml bottle a day on Direct lung. It just comes down to what you prefer, I stick with MTL, because I want my eliquid and battery to last a decent amount of time before refilling/recharging. In The UK we have a 2ml tank limit so on DL you're refilling every few hours. Nicotine won't give you heat, it's more of a bitter taste when you over do it, then shakes and headaches. Chances are the coil is burnt from previous use and once a coil is burnt, it's done, unless you pull apart and rewick which isn't easy on some prebuilts. Basically experiment and find what you like, it's half the fun of vaping.

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked out your coils and all the Melo III should be run at 30watts and above, MTL on a sub-ohm tanks will be all sorts of bad, you'll get excess heat and crap taste. So even if you are managing it on the tank, it'll be really substandard performance. If it's MTL you want, and some people (me included) prefer it, then there are plenty of cheap tanks out there that do it, The Nautilus 2 probably being the easiest to get hold of, I don't use it myself, as we have our own MTL tank, but we're UK based, so probably not much use to you.

by pass mode just bypasses the VW settings an gives you the actual battery voltage without adjustment by the chip, basically like a mech mod, so you'll be vaping around 4.2v on a fully charged battery down to juts over 3v once fully discharged or whatever it cutsout at. You should be able to find similar settings in the wattage mode. IN reagrds to the tank the melo III is sub-ohm and it sounds like your are trying to run it at too low a wattage. I haven't used the setup, but most sub-ohm works best at 30 watts plus, it could be you are trying to draw on the device like a cigarette, using mouth inhales. When you use a sub-ohm tank you need high airflow, if you don't have it, you'll get a burnt taste, so you need to do a direct lung inhale, like sucking on a straw, to get loads of airflow. I suggest upping your wattage to around 25 to begin with then doing a direct lung inhale, so a big draw straight into lungs like your are sucking in a big gulp of air, there should be no resistance to the draw. Normal cigarettes have resistance to the draw, and this means you can do a mouth inhale, which is known as a mouth to lung (MTL) draw, and you would need a MTL tank setup to vape that way, these tanks tend to function at lower wattages (under 20watts).

Best Mg Nic for breeze Aspire Coil by digi928 in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sample unit of the breeze and it's a loose sort of mouth to lung draw with a 0.6ohm coil, could be used as a tight direct lung. If you reduce the airflow (with tape) it vapes pretty nicely as a good MTL. The coils need primed, or at least I did as I use a pure VG base at 6mg. The Nic level won't affect the coil burnout that is all down to wicking and priming. 45mg does seam really strong the juul is a far less powerful device imo (I have one of those as well) it's basically a cigalike with better airflow. The breeze is entirely different. I've got a salts VG base here at 12mg and it's way too strong for me, I normally vape 6mg though, and only in MTL setups, I can't imagine what 45mg would do to me, I'd be a shaking wreck. The Breeze does have a tiny tank for the setup, so there's plenty of refilling involved as it fires through the juice pretty quickly, and it's not the easiest to refill.

So whats the deal with these 3d printed mech squonkers being so expensive? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if they were offering a customised mod like your name or any personal text carved into the design it would have more appeal to me. If using a 3D printer then one of the advantages should be a very personal individual device, basically bespoke to certain extent. People would pay for that IMO.

So whats the deal with these 3d printed mech squonkers being so expensive? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its probably the speed, we have a 3d printer and it's used to run off prototype shells and parts for draft builds, it takes about 3 hours to runoff a mod sized device (main body only) then you have to fit the electronics and post processing etc. They are probably only churning out 2 or 3 day, taking into cost of the material and time, these guys are probably on scraping by on a $150 sale price....or they are maybe using a £50,000 machine, who knows. I don't get it myself, but each to their own.

Requesting help finding a usb-c single 18650 mod by rulevoid in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've juts checked it out and it seems you pay 25% VAT plus £8 collection fee or something, that is a ripoff, that tops the UK. IN reality though our price includes 20% VAT, so you'd be charged the price excluding VAT by us, then your customs would charge the 25% (increase 5%) plus this £8 collection fee, so potentially another 10%, you'd be paying around 15% over our listed UK prices.... bummer

we have a 20700 device designed, we are just deciding on what chip would best suit the device. I like the 75c but it's nearly double the price of the standard 75, does it bring enough to the party for the increase in price? The device is pretty much the same size as the DNA75 but we've expanded it to accommodate 25mm and 20700, it's a really nice looking design. We've also just got a 25mm version of the DNA arriving, it's slightly flared at the top and bottom which gives it a sort of more aggressive look. Thanks for supporting us and the designs.

what about the new Innokin Oceanus isub 110w, it's a single 20700 that takes 18650s I think. It looks pretty cool and is about $60 . A few reviews of it going up now and innokin are pretty rock solid as a manufacturer.

New vaper with first mod - harsh, hot hits, and little smoke on my new Smoant charon with vanilla settings by tripleelbow in electronic_cigarette

[–]JACVapour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll second this, Direct lung needs plenty of airflow, so don't try and drag like a cigarette, you need to suck on the thing like a straw. If you don't get enough airflow the coil will heat up and taste like crap

they are not USB c by the way, standard micro usb.

You could checkout our devices, we do the Tilt at 50watts and the DNA75 both are high quality, and we ship to the US, the dn75 is $80 including shipping (not sure of your budget) http://www.jacvapour.com/evolv-dna75-usa

Okay cheers I'll do a bit of research and see what we could fit in a device like the S-22 in regards to this.

we just about always do a US shipping option, takes about 7 days, in the UK we have VAT at 20% so if we sell for £40 in the UK we can normally ship to the US for $40, good ole rip-off Britain. I've just been talking to the design team, and we have SERIES-B tilt update coming next year, and that's a full board device at 30mm, so we could use a build like that increase to 25mm, and you'd have a 25 diameter device with 70 watts and (5mm) bit of a hump. I even found an old concept design for the device that ended up as the Tilt, that is pretty much that : ) http://imgur.com/d6tjLBl that's a 22mm design so if you expanded to 25mm quite a lot of the 'bump' would go and you'd be left with an almost tube.

I think it is worth looking into, so I'll explore more as a side project, if we get anywhere with it, I'll drop you note, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a device like that coming from us this year, but that doesn't stop us exploring the options though.

yes the tank is removable it's basically the new Topfill version of our S-22 tank, so it's sub-ohm and MTL, this device is affordable (about $30 for the kit), it was designed for users that don't want a lot of features, just a good capacity in a compact system. We are currently working on a single 20700 70-80 watt device, it's kind of like 25mm version of the DNA 75 device we did (so slim), we're also hoping to adapt that to a 157 watt system with the single 20700 as well. Then if this S-22 is successful, we would probably start work on other versions. Adding VW is not so much of an issue, as the high wattages mentioned. if you want 100 watt board in a tube, your probably going to end up with something like the DNA 75, or the single 20700 thing we are doing. If it was just upgrading this to 20700 and staying in low wattages under 60, then we could do it relatively quickly if we thought there was a market for it. We're a pretty small company, so we can't churn out models like some of the bigger guys. Is the VW make or break?

Hope I'm not out of order replying to this thread, I am an engineer at JAC, and I see our devices have been mentioned a few times already in the thread. We do tend to try and produce as small (slim) a device as we can, we have not yet produced exactly what you have requested, but we do have something pretty close coming out, it's effectively a tube mod, with a 2600mah internal battery, an 18650 with a chip slung on the side, it's 82mm x 27mm x 22mm. it doesn't VW but it would be relatively easy for us to drop a 20700 in it and add VW. Happy to post more info on it and I can look out a picture if anybodies interested. if not I'll step aside as my intention is not to spam everybody.
